Stepping Back from Dming

Post by CloudDancing »

I really am not interested in plotline or campaign Dming anymore. I just don't enjoy it and I think it shows in my materials that I am not giving it my all.

Normally I would quit entirely but I see that the Moonshaes still needs administrative Dming still and character/customization Dming as well.

I can easily serve as this type of dm and help people work things out with personal plotlines, for example if your PC looses their faith or they need to plan a special social event like a wedding or a funeral.

It's been fun but its obvious to me that my Dming is not good enough and did not give the players what they wanted. Otherwise i'd be surrounded by people begging for my time week after week.

I hope this will prompt others to step up and Dm the Moonshaes. I know we just got T-ice and Kid, but I've yet to see T-ice Dm. We also have lost a number of dms who left and never really had the kindness to say "I quit." I can't say how frustrating it is for HDMS and DMS to not have closure when a Dm leaves.

So I can at least be an example and say here I am reducing my commitment to on-demand dming for social issues and customization issues.

PS. I still have the replacement cookies. It's a fairly nice item, so jump in the Q and get them from me.

She who burns twice as brightly only burns half as long.

And then gets burnout.

It happens to all of us Cloud. You may feel like taking the horse by the reigns again, and creating a massive story arc of epic proportions.

While I never got DM'ed by you, all I ever read on the forums were good things, so don't discount your DMing too soon.

I've had the occasional CDDM attention - certainly no complaints here. There aren't many DM's who pull off the naturalistic elements of the game well, and now we're down one of them. Boo and hiss. Anyway, it's your decision. :D

Saddness.

It's not that I didn't want to be in your sessions, just that often life required me to be elsewhere, particularly of late.

I R Misses you already.

I've never had any issues with your DMing, and I've loved the times I've been able to make it.

As it is, I think it's jut that MS has had a downturn in playerbase lately, and that time is just scare right now for most.

So no, you didn't do anything wrong :)

Second Character: Damien Collins, the atypical druid. "What? Being a stick in the mud is boring. No pun intended grins"

Well I still can Dm you small stuff. If you need some research RP with NPCs, I can do that. If you need to commission an item, I can do that. If you need to be counselled by wise druids or go on a vigil, I can do that too.

I also am working behind the scenes to negotiate trade agreements with other servers to share their scripts and tech. And of course building and gilding new canon areas.

We just need some new fresh dms and preferably ones that already know how to hit the ground running with some good plotlines.
