Who is the current acting Dean of the Lady's College? It seems like this should be common knowledge but I can't seem to find such information.

back when Wynna was still about, she had Registrar running things (between sobs) but that was quite a long time ago, back when I was still playing Rhothomir, I remember that the IC stuff back then was that the various masters were trying to decide who should take over, but it never went beyond that IC if I recall correctly.

Perhaps a fun plot to run through... What about Dean Olaf?!

The registrar is temporarily in charge of the school, since Dean Vihuel's death "until suitable replacement could be found". Unless they can find another level 20+ caster on the cuff, it might be awhile.

that was over an RL and IC year ago, logically it'd be the highest level npcs (or PC) member of the Collage thats in good standing, Really it requires the DMs of TSM to make such a decision on who that would be, I do know that of all the masters itd be Ostelle that has the most influence in events over the past year (My own PCs (both) and a fair few others have had to go to her for various things both collage and non collage related) Which certainly implies she's gained a bit more authority/respect on things.

Certainly doesn't need to be a level 20+ caster though, infact I'm hugely shocked to hear that he was lol

It also likely wouldn't be any of the wizards there. The Dean is usually a universal caster, while casters like Ostelle (who is only influential in that she picked a great plot focus in casting) are all focused spell casters. The Dean represents them all as a solidified unit. They're aware the spot has been vacant, but in the grand scheme of things, filling Vihuel's footsteps is difficult. He wielded ALOT of power, and that cannot be handed over to just anyone willy-nilly.

And for note, he was an epic spellcaster that had created his own epic spell. He was indeed 20+.

The Dean was obviously a cheatin' PGer who was finally caught and banned; the faked death is a big cover up to avoid embarrassing him publicly.

I thought it was one of the Magus guys who ended up acting as dean, from what I remember Wynna sayin' way back when.

Been out of this realm for quite a while.

But my memory going to roughly to Sept/Oct 2010, there was no formal replacement for Dean Vihuel.

Rathalan had instead been forced to seek aid from Ostelle, his closest connection at the University. Though vague and not cleary laid out, IC RP implied some chaos or at least a political power struggle within the University.

My impression was that Dean Vihuel might have been a Diviner, or at least heavily focused in that area in his past; so I don't think Generalists are the rule... but I think Paazin is spot on about the Magi- seems to me there were 2-3 named senior Magi milling around the upstairs who would have been the natural successors, unless the university did an external search for a new Dean.

I think I've got an email address for Wynna somewhere, might be able to get a few minutes of her time to post an IC-side update for the players (and/or an OOC side update for the DM team).
