Quick question, is the server set to 'normal' i.e. not DnD hardcore rules (AOE spells do not dmg party, etc)? If so... and I'm truly afraid to ask this question...
Is it intentional?
Please say it ain't so, ALFA.

I think the settings are set to hardcore as default, be careful when casting sleep, grease entangle and and the like

AoE spells work on party members.

The server should be set to "D&D Harcore Rules", but occasionally it's restarted wrong or a DM misclicks on the setting slider. If there is an indication the server is using the wrong ruleset, just report it in the same thread you would use if the server is down.
It's easily fixed.

also as was mentioned in another thread, if its the aoe of a grenadelike object that brought this question up, they are bugged

*nudges the difficulty slider to "Insane" and chuckles*

Thank Ao!
The best way to CvC in ALFA is to *accidentally* target a hated PC that you are partied with (usually in a "big tent" DM event) with an AoE spell!
