New player Group

Look. I know this sounds a bit hokey but whatever. I'm interested in creating a group of 1st level pc's with a common storyline backdrop, that would agree to meet EST evenings. Character generation would commence via irc in a private chat channel. (Just like in the old days when everyone gathered together to roll up pc's when computer's didn't rule the world. I'd even be open to random rolls for characer generation within the scope of the ability points alloted) OOC'ily the group would look to:
Establish group identity,
Establish reasons for thier affiliations,
Establish initial common character history,(Don't we have enough lone wanderers and vagabonds.)
Establish a code of ethics that rules character interaction ig within the group.
Agree to work as a group through three levels of role play and establish after that by ig vote whether the group will continue to function as an entity in Alfa.
Agree in spirit that no solo'ing will occur. (Must have a dm event, or must have a group member along with to accomplish statics, journey with other pc's)
Reasons for suggesting this--
--1st level pc's die and die often.
--It's highly unlikely that any lone traveller could survive travelling the lands of Faerun so how the hell did you get to Silverymoon in the first place if you didn't have companions you could count on to get you there.
--1st level pc's shouldn't be reliant on the good graces of upper level pc's to see them through their initial levels. (I'm not discounting uber pc involvement, but your rp and progression shouldn't be dependent on finding the 12th level paladin 10th level dwarf 11th level mage and hiding behind thier coat tails just so you can survive.)
--There was a time when rp'ing with characters greater than four levels your own was greatly frowned upon.
--Further, I would question any uber level pc that say's let's go hunting trolls.
--Lastly I know all this has been said before in one fashion or another. In large part efforts like this fail to get off the ground because (""I'm special and don't need a group to play with.."" """I'll agree to meet and never show up""" """No dm involvement""" """Player disagreement with the direction or goals of the group""""PVP""" """Other"""")
What typically occurs through attrition is one lone character winds up holding a torch as all the other pc's die off or go elsewhere.
If you're creating a character and are interested or if you are bored with an old pc and would like a fresh new start, respond to this want ad/personal ad/(insert adjective here) ad.
Please give GSID and best available times.
Please give 1 idea for a group concept.
(My thought is the best group idea voted on by the members would be led by the member who submitted the idea. In the event of a tie... Roll the dice d20. Low die wins!! //low levels -- low die wins...HA!)
Ideal size for this is 5 members so this will not go forward until 5 responses have been submitted and confirmed.
I'll set November 10th as the deadline for signing up. If there is no interest by then, I'll presume this is going nowhere.
IRC meeting would occur ASAP afterward at earliest possible convenience--
Agenda--
--Vote on best group idea--Party Leader determined by whom submitted idea.
--(Leader's role should be determined by overall group concept.)
--Determine character classes that compliment each other and fill roles.
--Determine where best to make stage entrance(I.E. Server, location on server)
--Establish regular playing time.
--Establish overall party alignment.
OOCily-- I'll be happy to act as Secretary and handle OOC communication if this gets off the ground.
