I am saddened to see that this sort of nonsense is still going on. We are seeing cases where players who ought to know better are racking up Static XP at somewhat precipitous rates with every new PC they make, in some cases taking the same statics in the same order with each new 'toon, a clear violation of our Meta rules.Back in September, Wynna wrote:Looking into some logs to see if there was anything that could be done for a PC deceased during a static, I discovered that static running is apparently part of TSM gameplay. Statics are there to give you something to RP. Yes, there have been reports that partying causes bugs in the quest state, but I am looking at that and it is unrelated to the issue at hand. The evidence here is that they can still be played, either while partied or solo, and that people are abusing them.
Let me make this clear. From now on, evidence of this behavior will be submitted to the PA for a powergaming investigation. This is to be considered a general warning.
We have also seen evidence of players taking Delivery statics with low-STR PCs and getting a stronger PC to do the work for them. If you can't haul the load, the job is NOT meant for your character - there are plenty of jobs that do not require strength. In short, if the job is OOC for your character, DON'T TAKE IT. Abuses of this nature will be regarded as evidence of Power Gaming.
This does NOT mean that you can't do statics. We hope that you will. We hope that you will join up with other PCs and use the statics as starting points for RP when we can't be there to DM you. But we will not put up with folks "stacking" jobs (i.e., taking more than one at a time), "running" statics (taking one after another after another without a break), or other similar abuses.
We've worked hard to create content for the server that can be enjoyed without a DM's presence. We hope that abuse of this content does not force us to remove it.
I hope that players understand why we find this kind of behavior distasteful and that we will not be forced to limit the content of the server.
