A Land Far Away

This may be ignorance as I am a brand new player, and looking at Exalted thread i wonder if 'ordinary' characters CAN log in monday evenings, or whether it is a special version of the server.

Anyway problem is:

password fine, login fine, choose character fine.
Moodule loaded, area loaded...the problem is the blue bar is then only filling to 40-45%. ie the entrance screen doesn't load.

I've tried it 7-8 times tonight and always the same.

All was fine yesterday.

One thing, i logged out immediately after I had exited the building in rivermoot; might the problem be related to logging out near a zone? character is Miska Windtalker.

You can log in as you wish.

If I were to venture a guess I'd say PWC corruption.

Should be no restrictions on when you can join.

Sounds like some sort of corruption... re-run worldgate, make sure everything is good?

Failing that, maybe check basic system stuff (defrag, video drivers, etc).

Other opinions?

I often crash in door transitions and have always been able to relog without an issue and pop up on the far side of the transition. I would think it is something else, but someone more knowlegable than I will soon have a suggestion I'm sure.

I just wanted to say I had great fun meeting Miska yerterday and don't give up.

Managed to log in once but had minimal control; couldn't activate search or stealth, toon has permanent running motion and doors wouldn't activate. Tried to relog and couldn't get in again.

This pc is new and over spec for nwn2; there is hardly anything on it file wise.

Should I completely dump the alfa files and reload?

Depending on your bandwidth, if this is an option, it might be a good one.

Empty the hak, tlk, override folders from your documents folder, re-run worldgate client.

BUT you might want to get advice from experts... I'm a n00b at best

The running in place and not being able to do anything sounds like a connection issue.

also if you have overides from other servers .......can cause conflicts. I think

Lies. The server is mine on monday nights!!!!!!

I've had at least two, maybe three instances of PWC corruption that were not able to be fixed by W/G updates..... had to manually d/l the pwc .


If nothing else is working for you...maybe consider it.

Ditto. Get yourself something like Getright, or Download Accelerator Plus to make it go faster. Much.
