Getting text into dialogue
I'm playing a bard and have a folder on my desktop full of songs and tales, but getting text into dialogue takes so long to bang out letter by letter that even I get bored trying to execute a song IG, not to mention the hapless PC's standing about waiting for me to type it out
. In NWN1 I could use windows mode with copy and paste and execute songs and tales at a pace that was entertaining for all, but this doesn't seem possible in NWN2 for some reason.

I'm guessing that has to do with the securom crap they added to nwn2johnlewismcleod wrote:this doesn't seem possible in NWN2 for some reason.
Re: Getting text into dialogue
You have something like 50 custom text macro slots available through the PC Tools feature. I don't know about cutting and pasting into those, but you can preload them with your songs or poems or whatever and then fire them off as quickly as you like. There is a limit to the number of characters you can type into them, but the number is high enough that I am confident you can still rattle off some epic bardwork if you wish.
Talk less. Listen more.

Except right now, the macros are a bit botched. Hold your experimentations until we get the word they're fixed.
Re: Getting text into dialogue
Also: When I was playing a bard, putting new line characters (\n) into macros didn't work so well after relogging. So each macro may have to be a single line of text only.

Re: Getting text into dialogue
Text Macros should be working again, though be careful about when you open PC tools for the first time after a login if you've got a lot of them, as they currently lag the server pretty heavy the first time they're opened.
Hoping to optimize them soon.

I found this, it seems alot more than you were after, and well..... just lookjohnlewismcleod wrote:I'm playing a bard and have a folder on my desktop full of songs and tales, but getting text into dialogue takes so long to bang out letter by letter that even I get bored trying to execute a song IG, not to mention the hapless PC's standing about waiting for me to type it out.
