Player Housing?

I was wondering since i couldn't find anything on it i was wondering if there is any player housing allowed IG, that would help use up some of the empty buildings in SilveryMoon and such. On previous servers that I've played on the prices were usually very high and the prices also depended on location and size of the house.so... ANYWAY... is there player housing IG?

Also interested in this.
Any chance we could get a pricelist for square footage/location/persistent storage/etc?

It was defintely planned for when I was building and HDM. I had set aside a building to be used for tenements (rented appartments) as well as single houses, riverside and hillside.
For the builders, the 'Abandoned House' interiors could probably be duplicated into single house interiors.

As soon as the team comes up with an answer, I am more than happy to build living spaces for resident PC's who can afford them. As soon as a judgement is made on the price per size and players confirm what they want, they can email me about anything personallized they might want, toolset dependant.

Could players design their own houses then send them in?

Can you build a tree house?

Tip / brainstorm / whatever FWIW, "captured lairs" can be a cheap, accessible method of housing PCs if DMs are into it, very questable (if that is a word).
i.e., Forlorn wizards tower in a swamp, beat the living daylights out of whoever's living in it, guess it's yours now! A variation on the "kill things and take their stuff" theme D&D's known for, is "steal their house too." Abandoned temples, old mill that traderoutes no longer lead to, little fort, dilapidated shack that can be fixed up with some TLC, etc., all possibilities at least in non-urban settings.
"Capturing" a house etc. in a city is probably a little frowned upon by local authorities though.
Anyhow, can be a satisfactory way to handle the topic in cases where the DMs think "this or these PCs might be into this." Some PCs might hate the idea of having a swamp tower or something, but maybe your local PC cleric of Talona and entourage would love it *shrugs*

OGR, I'd welcome the callange that a treehouse would provide.
We're gonna have to find a pretty big tree though.

Dan:
You should talk to Keryn. I am pretty sure he already knows how to do treehouses.

Might work for a vast server with few PCs / one campaign group, but for a relatively small (due to NWN 2 confinements) server with an insanely improbable concentration of adventurers? This might become quite the hassle for the team to handle.
Sides, whatever place you think you've "cleared" - some australian future man was probably there before you

Personally... i dont think just capturing area's and claiming them as yours would be very wise in most cases, besides, then only half-orcs and evil characters would have homes
(could you imagine a Helmite going in and raiding a house to claim it

)
I think buying or building your own home would be a better way to go around with housing, that way people would need to earn their houses and such cause they would need to pay for it showing that their character has been around a while, and not a brand spanking new off the riverboat.
OGR's idea is nice, his character wanting to build his own tree-house rather than claiming the ruined tower in Wintersedge
Personally, my character wants to make a caveish home in the forest somewhere, so i dont think they would need to be restricted to typical houses if you would want one.

Actually, I'm very much interested in this idea myself. My character is not a rich man by any means, and would be happy with a hovel in Silverymoon. Primarily I'd like something with persistent storage. Housing should be more readily available in the city, I would think?
What do the DMs say on this?

Or even tiny single room dwellings would suit most I suspect. Larger houses should be more expensive, when you take into account any taxes too.
