Propably a dumb question and propably explained somewhere, but...

How do you get to use one on an already made character?
Somewhere in PC tools? Consol? Divine intervention?

Help?

Open your character sheet and double click your portrait.

Anyone know which are the original ones that come with the game? Or know where I can find a list?

Hijacking, sorry...

Do the 3D portraits cause lag? Are we recommended to use the 2D portraits?

Yes, they cause lag. If you can choose a 2D portrait, please do so. Some are not affected (myself included), but others become downright unplayable (like Swift).

We need a list of everything that causes lag....

And we need a *lot* more 2D portraits to choose from.

Of course, that would probably cause lag.

Indeed. I can run the game a breeze with detail on full and at high res, but the moment i join a party that has someone using a 3d portrait i need to turn off all graphical enhancements and shadows just to get it playable.

It is a shame too, because if you are able to run things at full detail, the server looks absolutely amazing, and its a bit of a downer to go exploring or walking without that detail.

A while bunch (50 odd?) got thrown onto Worldgate last week so everybody should have some. If you don't, we will have to see about getting a portrait pack together.

Are the portraits a particular size of file? Would the old NWN1 portraits work or do they need to be tweaked somehow? I can weed out the particular file size (if no tweaking is necessary) and post up an NWN2 portrait pack on my mirror.

It's simpler than NWN1 portraits- but perhaps more strict. IIRC, portraits must be 128x128 TGA files. GrandFromage is managing the portrait pack (doing the QC and such), though he may be happy to delegate- he's the one to ask.

Alternatively, Mord is doing this for our sister world, Exodus- so he's a good resource for questions on it as well.

Is there a way to use our own portraits like in NWN 1 and other people can still see it? None of the current ones really fit Kai.

We can add to the portraits available for everyone easily enough- right now GrandFromage is handling the portrait pack, though he may choose to delegate it if he's swamped with suggestions.

NWvault has quite a few to choose from, if you've got a favorite you'd like to see added, maybe start a thread in NWN2 Custom Content here.
