Fix Static Quests, Plz (They're Repeatable)

This is a really serious balance issue. It's very, very easy to rack up a ton of xp at the moment (even if you don't intend to) by repeating statics your party members have obtained but that you've previously completed.

Fix it! Do it nooooow!

FYI:
My PC just got XP a second time for two quests. I was not the quest receiver for either of the quests, just in the party.

The Hollows Scouting Quest and the Lizard one.

(ps: if a DM wants to yank that xp away when I am next in game that would be groovy, I would like to experience lvl one a little longer)

I finished the third scouting quest, got XP for completing and got the gold reward (other PC took the quest). The marshall still offers me the quest. I'm not entirely sure I can take and finish it a second time, but the dialog option is there.

It'll get fixed.

Checking xp gains is easy now, so if people have gained xp through this bug then it will be deducted. It's pretty clear that it's been unintentional for most people.

Until the next mod update, Darren has been kind enough to log in and Limbo Kadalion, so I apologise for the ionconvenience of not being able to finish quests, but it's best to minimise the spread, then fix the bug.

lol

Though as Darren just reminded me, he may very well respawn.

To save us time, if this has happened to you and you have gained xp from a quest more than once, please post in this thread.

Marshal Kadalion is seen marching off to his quarters muttering something about this being the last time he pulls duty on Greengrass.

I ran into this the last night of Beta and could not continue/complete the quest the second time, which meant I could not get quest #4, either.

If there is a fourth scouting quest I can't get it either.

I think I had the best one yet. I was AFK with the marker over my head in the inn, and the party I was in completed a quest while I was on the phone with a client, and I got XP. I had no journal entries whatsoever, but I still got the xp, heh.

I've had a couple of others since then too. The best way to avoid it is probably to just unparty when you get to a quest location that you've already completed.

We're working on fixing these stats. Thought we had it this morning but we're hearing not, again. Until we get it fixed, Marshall Kadelian is taking a holiday. He's decided to go trekking and get back to nature after that busy Greengrass festival. He's slipped off and won't be back until he's ready.

As for the folks who've gotten extra stat XP, as well as those who've perhaps in their excitement taken too many (sometimes ALL) statics on the server in 24 hours, you'll be contacted for an XP rewind as we review the logs.

Thanks.

Thanks for reporting the issues, everyone. AL will be applying a patch to the module soon, which I hope will address the root of these problems. Confirmation would be much appreciated from those of you in-game.

There are some ancillary issues that remain, in particular module performance, so please continue to report your experiences so that we can keep improving the playability of the module.

Thanks.

Perhaps it would be best simply to give the xp when people turn in the quest?

Along with the *edit - automatically distributed* gold. :P

So - is each participant supposed to get the entire reward sum or shall we continue - as I have done - to share it out (resulting in about 3 to 5 gp each for each quest)?
