Rick, there is very little canon info on the House itself, I have found this....
"The House Invincible: Vigilant Master Erssler Thamm leads the hearty and steadfast worshipers at the city’s major temple to Helm. Silverymoon is one of the few places in the Realms that Helm’s worship did not suffer after the Time of Troubles. Most of the Knights in Silver and some of the Spellguard are ardent worshipers of Helm, believing that devotion to their duty as protectors of the city allow it to survive. Over the past ten years, this temple has grown in the number of faithful attendants, as it welcomes Helm’s worshipers without judgment. Unlike other temples, the House Invincible has no lofty spires or delicate ornamentation. At first glance, it appears as a fortified garrison or stone keep, and it has served as such for troops during times the city walls have been breached.
In fact, the House Invincible has done the city and her Lady a great service. Before a request was even made, Master Erssler opened up a number of offices, quarters, and the lesser chapel as an assembly hall to Methrammar Aerasumé, the Shining Guard. Methrammar needs the space within the House Invincible as a temporary headquarters and recruiting post for the newly forming army of their fledgling country. Alustriel and her son are both grateful for the ready aid of the Brothers of Helm, and are glad their new country has some divine backing from the Protector.
A stark, no nonsense building that looks to be more of a fort than a temple, this building is the temple of Silverymoon's worshippers of Helm. The worship of the Watcher is thriving in the Silver Marches, and the temple takes an active part in the defense of the city and its people. The previous master of the temple, Erssler Thamm, recently fell in battle, and his replacement has proven to be an able leader.
Leader
Baerim Corraddor (Human Ftr 4 / Cleric 10 of Helm)"
A few questions for how you want to proceed as far as canon...
A. Should the House Invincible still have rooms available for The Shining Guard...will they have their own posts at this point, or perhaps these rooms will be left open for The Guard should they ever need them.
B. Since there are Spellguards worshipping Helm, I had an idea to put a resident Mage within the House as well. Mid-level, he will most likely also be enchanting and selling minor PROTECTION items only. He will probably focus much of his time and research in the making and perfecting of items that provide protection of one sort or another... any forseen problems with this idea?

In reguards to mental afflictions...
How would the Faerunian society treat those with afflictions? I am pondering weather to put in a wing on one of my floors for the housing of the less sain...Helm not only protecting the community from possible dangerous people...but also protecting those people from themselves. Any thoughts?

One of the later Avatar sequels had a sanitarium for mentally ill/damaged mages/casters that was looked after by Mystran clergy, I believe it was in Waterdeep though. It didn't feature prominently in the plot, but there was some brief description involved.
It was either "Prince of Lies" or "Crucible: The Trial of Cyric the Mad". I read Dran's copies of those two while lou and I were down under in '06 for the Oz ALFAcon and such, otherwise I'd find the quotes for you.

Good info Tom...that one does exsist is indeed a good start. at least in the more civilized parts, it is good to know they are not put to the sword or noose. Another concept is how are the mentally insain veiwed? As possessed? Afflicted by Cyric (once upon a time)? As evil? Just curious...but thanks for the reply!

In this case, they mainly used it as a backdrop to explore Midnight/Mystra's early godhood- her human compassion contrasted with her sense of divine responsibility for those who were struck mad by the magical instability. The sense I had of the atmosphere from the scene was that they were a bit like medieval lepers- something of an embarrassment to most of the populace, best kept in reasonable care, but out of sight and mind. Only the devout have much sympathy or time for their care. Seems like something a more good-leaning Helmite sect might take on, though Helm and Mystra have ongoing tensions stemming from his slaying of the former Lady of Mysteries during her failed attempt at returning to the heavens after learning the identity of the three who stole the tablets of Fate. I imagine the lingering animosity is greater from the Mystran side than the Helmite side in any case.
(Also may shed some light on the ambivalent interactions between Dara and Tarrent as well, heh.)

Bet Ilmater would be a prime candidate for having rubber rooms in its temples / monasteries etc.
Helmites would make good jailers though, if just warehousing non-contagious (but maybe harmful to self/others) unfortunates was all that was required.

Yeah, I had considered a jail aspect as well, but figured the actual guard of Silvey would have their own means of the storage of criminals, which is where the asylum idea popped into my head.

I understand the mentally ill to generally be under Selunite care.danielmn wrote:In regards to mental afflictions...

Faiths & Pantheons wrote: The common folk know servants of Selune as mysterious agents of good, enemies of evil werebeasts and undead, and caretakers of lunatics and the infirm.
Those clerics who remain bound to temples (usually but not always due to age) dispense healing, earn coin for the church by telling fortunes from star charts, and minister to residents of the sanitariums and asylums that frequently abut Selunite temples.

Sweet! Thanks for the information all! Due to the posts, my consideration for a psych ward have been dropped.

Placeables for third area done tonight.
Will work with walkmesh/conversions for the first three areas, then proceed onto area 4 and 5 (smaller areas, 6X6).
Sorry I got behind, full attention on this now.

I will be sending the first two levels of the House as well as all four towers to Rick tomorrow evening. He has been kind enough to do NPC's as well as Helm related items for me, since building is my thing. Though not the complete Temple (i still have two more levels of smaller dimensions to finish) this should give plenty of room for our Silvey do-gooders to have some rp fun.
Among the places that will be in the first half are..
The Temple Worship Room.
THe Temple kitchen.
The Temple Baths
THe Temple Laundry
THe Temple Catapult Rooms
The Temple Apothacary
THe Temple Sick Room
The Temple Forge
The Temple Scholar (Arcana)
The Temple Library
Everwatchers "lounge" and Meeting Room
Various Barrack Rooms for The Everwatch Knights, Vigilant Eyes of the God, and Everwatchers
Look for this to be in soon, until then, stay vigilant!
With Respect,
Daniel M Noah
