Stefan wrote:I remember small static about unloading cargo. It goes like this, PC picks a crate from point A and need to bring it to point B (which is somewhere close). Trick is that crates are heavy (around 80lbs) so only the strongest of PCs can hope not to be overburdened while doing this static. After PC carries around ten crates, as reward, PC receives around 10 gp and no XP (or perhaps some symbolic amount like 5 XP), and quest can be repeated again at certain time period (at least one full IG day). Static could be obtainable at the docks of Rivermoot and Silverymoon. This could be fine non-combat repeatable static, suitable for wide range of PC concepts, for restocking healing potions on a bit more regular basis.

Very similiar Stefan. The Argent Legion supply run quests are open to anyone and start at Rauvinwatch Keep. You have to carry a 100lb box of supplies to either Rivermoot, High Hold, or Quaeryvar, which will encumber most PC's. A long walk, which may be boring or not depending on what you encounter along the way, best to do in groups.

When I posted, it was just to let you all know what was going on in game. I don't need a 1000 gp tomorrow, or the next day, or even next week. As I believe I have told each of you, probably more than once, I love the server, I am extremely happy with the game, and I have not been this excited about playing in ALFA in a long time. The DMA's attempt to cast our posts as some sort of unjust whining is really, well, its just not the case. I love the server, and I think the DM team has been doing an phenomenal job. Thank you.
Same sentiments here.

Seeing as I'm likely the hunter Mulu encountered, I can assure you that I've not seen a hide. most of my hunting/selling is self rp for <1gp of goods, which is the used to purchase (again through rp) other <1gp goods. It would be really nice if critters did drop the occasional hide/meat.

I was thinking this would be more relevant as part of a crafting system, but noted.

Hunting upsets the druids :P

Actually, I was thinking of setting up some mining places with spawned ore loot. Not necessessarily in tunnels.

Though wolf pelts, maybe ....

I don't know. I remember GFs (maybe) signature, a while back, with a screenshot of a Druid somewhere in ALFA doing like 200 damage with one spell.

One server I played on had fishing. I think it was from the NWN Vault so may be easily acquirable.

Good way to rp and make some cash. And with all the watery spots there could be tons of places to drop a lure.

Yea, Arien succeeded with drown against Telamont Tanthul on a test server. He then killed her and everyone within a mile radius with a hellball and multiple death spells, but y'know.

In the brief DM event we had (I believe via Rick) before the server was forced to restart, I noticed that some of the orcs slain were dropping loot (whether it was a few coins or scrolls and what not). I don't know if something was changed or if it was simply because they were spawned in.

Earlier, myself and a group killed Black Raven (Dark Raven? something..) Barbarians by High Hold, about seven to ten kills and nothing was dropped. Whereas they were not even clickable, the Orcs from the event could be clicked even without loot, and it would say there was nothing via the combat log.

Any chance of some less combat centric quests? Even some quests that aren't likely to really put you in harms way, even if they don't really reward as much?

I mean, we already have alot of statics that either directly put you into combat or imply that combat is quite a possibility, and already most DM plots involve killing stuff.

Not everybody wants to spend their non DM time getting into combat =\

There's already scout and exploration quests, but IC repeatable quests are the real key. Not all of us get DM candy. (Though I finally got some, thanks HR!!)

I have some quests that don't involve combat planned.
