On that note, we're working on further improvements to reduce server lag for the North American based servers - unfortunately parts of our scripts make frequent database queries to the Europe-based database server, including during combat (several times per combat round in some cases), and these notably contribute to reducing responsiveness. I've been monitoring performance on TSM for the past few days and most of the times when there are performance drops, it is due to frequent communication with the database (or due to a character save or character load for a saving player or an incoming player).

We've made a first round of improvements on that front with the recent ACR release, and are in the process of testing some more extensive query reduction improvements that should reduce the multiple queries per combat round issues. (These issues were partially masked when the server was hosted in Europe, due to closer proximity to the database.)
