Very sorry all, but I'm out of game until I can get repair parts for my wireless tower. I've been mostly absent lately due to springtime workload, so many of you won't notice a difference, but for those few I have stuff started/going with please consider we are on "toon-time".

Hopefully I'll get my service sorted soon and be back to harass you lot more soon

K...my apologies to the poor players I left hanging IG .

It looks like I am out until I get my wireless fixed, dial-up just won't cut it. It may be a week or possibly even two before I can get a technician out with parts or a replacement unit...but I shall be back.

are you talking about your wireless router, or something outside of the home? Some folks here might be able to give you adequate direction to do your own fix.

I live out in "the sticks"...I had to erect a 60' tower to even get wireless at my place.

The phone lines are too weak to support DSL, there is no cable, and my southern property line is completely obstructed by 60' + tall trees...and I have three large metal barns surrounding my house that soak up cell phone signals like giant sponges

Unfortunately my wireless sender/receiver unit on my tower is the only possible source of broadband available thus far at my home. But since I'm rural, service is slower than you lucky city folk enjoy

I suspect the problem is with my sender/receiver unit and that most likely the technician will just replace it, rather than try to fix it on site. But even if I knew where to pick up another unit, I wouldn't have access to the programming codes to make the link to my provider's repeater tower...and I seriously doubt they'd even consider giving me those codes anyway.

If anyone is familiar with rural wireless service and thinks they can walk my through a unit change-out, I would be willing to give it a go, however. I'm the one who has to climb the tower and change-out the unit anyway, heh...the last two technicians sat on the swing and watched
