Time required between prayers
A problem (?) I've been having lately...
After logging on following a lenghty downtime, my druid's spells have been restored and I am able to pray for them also.
However, after praying for these spells once, I am unable to pray for them again until after a server reset, it seems.
My last prayer was 13-ish hours ago IRL, and the system still keeps telling
me that I have already prayed for the day.
Is this normal, or is there a bugged script for my character?
His name is Dram Thorn on the TSM.

It should take 24 IG Hours to be able to pray again. And when you atempt to pray im not sure it says how long untill you can pray again but when you rest it says.
Hope someone can shed some light over it, but 24 hours IG should do the trick, and thats less then 13 hours IRL Im sure. Something is wrong!!

Did you try resting before?Glabro wrote:

+1 to this. PnP rules say that a caster cannot prepare spells without a full night's sleep and peaceful surroundings.psycho_leo wrote:Did you try resting before?Glabro wrote:

Just remembered that when I entered the game for the VERY first time with this character, without spells, and tried praying for them, the game told me "You have already prayed for spells for today!"
If server resets take place periodically during my longer downtimes, then those are the reason I have regained spells and praying capability at all. Otherwise it seems the timer doesn't work for me at all.
EDIT: Just realized the reason. My PC has the "No Deity" selection from the deity list, because at the time I was creating the deity selections were all garbled and messed up (a result of my override files, I later learned). Thinking that Gwaeron Windstrom isn't probably even an option, I clicked the only selection that had any text, "No Deity" and decided to just RP it.
We talked about it with a DM and he said it'd be looked into. I suppose I need a re-creation!

You definitely need a valid deity. Wether you need to recrete or a DM can fix I cant really say. I can say however is that if it's not to much hassle (i.e. you don't have much XP and never got much loot) it's easier to just recreate your PC with a slightly different name.

As a side-note: this only applies to arcane casters. Priests and their ilk only need to worry about not falling asleep during prayers.Zelknolf wrote:PnP rules say that a caster cannot prepare spells without a full night's sleep and peaceful surroundings.

ALFA does implement a need to be rested for Divine casters, but in return they're not limited to a specific time of day.

Out of the question, unfortunately. Also, the rules specifically forbid doing this on your own.

glabro, I will gladly authorize a rebuild of your druid PC. Send me a PM and we can see about getting it done right away.
