Question about merchants

Post by Phineus »

I 've been lugging around items that I have looted or picked up off corpses that no merchant will buy...even though they are selling the same item and it is worth more than 0 gold?

Practically every item in my inventory that is not a weapon cannot be sold anywhere. (Tried SM, RM and HH merchants that deal in the appropriate wares).

I'm a bit of a pack rat and when I find a bell for instance, I think "I might be able to use that as an early warning system" and I hold on to it. But, absent p-storage, I'm just constantly encumbered. Can we loosen up on the merchant restrictions (especially in larger cities like Silverymoon where merchants are more likely to buy and trade away or resell items they don't normally deal in)?

Thanks!

I carry around about 30 lbs of 'junk' loot in my trap kits usually, tossing it in a campfire when I use it. Retreating from the orcs lightened my load considerably, a couple fishing nets, 50' of rope, etc.

It would be nice to see a pawn shop in SM or HH, though, where adventurers could sell 5 bells for a gp or something like that.

We should be able to add at least one "odds and ends" merchant in each settlement, I expect (or easier, add the buy options for miscellaneous to an existing merchant). If it's not in by this time next week, remind me.

Or simply a few bins. I can't seem to make my campfires disappear after filling them with junk..... and puff the magic dragon didn't want my collection of sealing wax.

I carry about forty pounds of roleplaying equipment and have more squirreled away in persistent storage. I like collecting the stuff.

Just wish it came in handy more often. It'd be nice to see some scripts for them, eventually...

Where is there persistent storage? I'd prefer to keep what I have rather than sell it.

I have to also agree with the OP. I have collected "drops" from random mobs while doing some quests and I cannot get rid of them to any NPC merchant anywhere. It would be nice to be able to sell some of this instead of just taking up space in my pack. Is there anyway we can get this changed sometime? Otherwise, im just taking up space and Id rather have the gold anyway.
