Don't see why it would. And while a tiefling can pop up in the line anywhere down from a half-fiend's descendant, they are most common to be the child of a half-fiend and a regular mortal, and the grandchild of an actual outsider.

Thanks for all the precisions.

Should we assume, for the moment, that tieflings are going to be in for alfa2?

I never heard any word on changing that policy.

None of the realities that the decision not to allow them was based on have changed.

Alright.

Obviously (as vendrin knows): the more answers i get the more questions i have.

So I've got something else:

Do tieflings or Aasimar (plantetouched) feel "alive" or there persception of life is altereed by the extraplanar essence they are part of?

Do they believe themselves as daemons and "angels"? I suppose this one can vary from one to the other, but i want to know if the heritage is only genetic or if there is actually some "fire in the blood" (read daemonic/angelic essence) that affects their perception of others.

Since there are such physical alterations to the mortal body, do they feel distant to the material world?

My understanding there is some level of connection but not huge. They are part of this world though the world might make them feel different. Physically though they don't hear the planes or anything nor does their ancestry control them other then appearance and maybe have a bit of temperament issues.

Yes. Planetouched are being allowed.

I cannot remember where it was discussed, but I believe Inaubryn is correct - we are allowing Aasimar and Tieflings in NWN2/ALFA2.
ALFA1-NWN1: Sheyreiza Valakahsa
NWN2: Layla (aka Aliyah, Amira, Snake and others) and Vellya

"Want to join our gang and kill some kobolds?"

Weird rare races, fun in Planescape, guess we'll see how it works in ALFA's Faerun.

If they are shown to be out of hand in live, we can remove them (not retroactively) and work on a solution to allow rare races and still keep them rare (which is ideal, I think) or keep them disallowed.

Yes they are alive, and mortal and as such must abide the same rules and feelings regular mortals have.
However, they are natural outsiders, and as such are immune to things like charm/etc that target humanoids. But they can be banished from this plane to the astral one because they are outsiders. (Note because of the Natural outsider thing, spells that send outsiders back to their home planes don't work since Faerun is their home plane, however spells like banishment do work as it doesn't specify returning them to a home plane. )
Do they believe themselves as daemons and "angels"? I suppose this one can vary from one to the other, but i want to know if the heritage is only genetic or if there is actually some "fire in the blood" (read daemonic/angelic essence) that affects their perception of others.
Depends on the person. However they are still mortal, and even an imp or a lantern archon has more power then a lv1 tiefling/Aasimar.

No.

Played both of them in the O.C. and for me i wont be playing them in live, although the idea of playing Jimmy baker plane touch with a god complex does appeal to me.(i would take the evangilist voice set..and act like it)

I would like to reiterate, Tiefling and Aasimar are not races.

Try to not think of "breeding" in the typical sense when considering other planar creatures and mortals producing offspring. No natural processes are in play when this occurs. In nearly all instances of congress nothing happens. When something does happen nearly always the result is neither pretty nor lives to term. In that very rare instance where there is offspring the child is not like to show any outward sign of its heritage.

As a previous speaker pointed out many genrations may pass before an obvious feature (physical or otherwise) is seen in the poor child that has descended from such union.

Now of course, as with any campaign, details such as this are left to the game master to modify as they see fit for their own vision of the milieu. The official ALFA stance may vary from the above, but knowing this group i doubt it will vary much.

~ Dao

Edit: It appears i've been bitten again by the new 3.0 ruleset. The Monster Manual does indeed mention "half-fiend" and "half-celestial" in the description of planetouched. In my opinion this sadly removes much of the "magic" from dealings with other planar creatures. I think i'll pass on playing or using characters with this background myself.
