Amidst my hectic 2 weeks of travel, I missed this: Virusman of NWNx.org has released an update to the xp_mysql plugin we use to tie persistency into the central SQL database, that supposedly has support for storing and retrieving objects to/from the SQL database. This has many potential ACR uses, including making p-storage centralized, even potentially allowing use of SQL for the character vault eventually, depending.
There are important questions that need to be investigated, such as whether the retrieval/storage routines perform well enough to work in realtime (OnOpen / OnClose on a fully stocked p-chest, for example) without causing lag- but this is a big boost to our ACR infrastructure.

Cipher, is this one you want to tackle? I'm into crunch-time on my thesis and manuscript, so I can't commit to any serious coding projects until I get that sorted out.
