Ok, checked the one in the DM forum and that looks like the winner. (http://www.thesavagefrontier.net/Uploads/DMC001/) But, you realize you've got 4 versions of your compendium now? Mind if I delete/edit your posts above and reference the up to date version? It's rather confusing to an old dog like me.
BTW, are you keeping the older versions around for a reason or are you forced to create a new version each time you publish changes?
I just keep all versions and try to find the right name for the file as I go along. It's a long way from perfect, but it means I've got backups saved under different names. I'll keep the first post as the latest link and delete all subsequent.
I had a look through the DM Compendium yesterday, or what I could look through in an hour. It's very, very impressive. It's also very, very imposing as a single document read cover to cover. Doing that, though, revealed a bit of repetition of topics (ie: two sections on the DM Wand: Base Mod - Pallette Contents/ACR Areas/DM Area & Base Mod - Pallette Contents/Items/Administrative/DM Wand) There's clearly a lot still to be added to the Compendium, with all those placeholder pages in, so streamlining duplicate entries would save some space, although as long as there's a clear path to specific information via clear topic headers, duplicate entries aren't that important for day to day lookups, of course. One minor point: I noted that a future PC emote wand and the Omega Wand 2 share an entry page currently. I'd think they should be separated. The organization looks good, though, and the work of collating out all the threads from all the forums to keep in one place, although just started, is an admirable and important advancement for ALFA in terms of having a reference for how t' do stuff.
I look forward to DMA's thoughts on the DM Training portion of the Compendium--changes, additions, DMFI, personal slant, future hopes, whether or not it serves his intentions at all...etc. I also look forward to the new TA's opinion on the Base Mod progress as reflected by this document.
On the whole, I love it. How nice to be able to have all this documentation and training in one place. Thanks, guys, for working so hard in general and distilling down your hard work to these specifics.
Would having access controls on the wiki rule out any quick or simple installs?
If it makes no difference, then I'd err on the side of having control than not. I know for certain that we would want to limit who has edit rights on content and who can submit content at a minimum.
