Looks like it would need a full terrain effects system to be scripted first.

That class kinda need some planes to visit and so far as I know, none of the servers got any of the hells, elemental planes and so on. So why bring in this PRC?

Nontrivial burden on the builders, yeah. We could make a ... very... very... gimpy version of this PrC without that, but without folk actively defining what creatures are native to what sort of terrain, it'd just be a bunch of skill bonuses for mid-level characters and a few elemental resists for high-level characters. Or I guess we could modify the class such that you pick a combination of area flags that we already have (e.g. "+1 to hit when inside of an above-ground manmade exterior" -- though complications there, as some would be unambiguously more valuable than others. Our only "underground exteriors" are on non-live servers. Even so-- one of those on each of the even levels, maybe?)

The RP requirements might also present problems-- but I'm not sure that would be any more severe with this PrC over any other. All of them have to do some quirky things that individual modules may or may not be equipped for.

Fun and interesting PrC (actually quite powerful... dimension door several times a day for a full bab noncaster? even without the other abilities this alone would make it arguably worthwhile), would love to see terrrain factored into things in ALFA from time to time, etc. but that seems like a distant priority.

Maybe someday.

Yea. Well I like the thought of it. :) It suits my ol'feller very well, and from the above I agree of course, the technical side of it very much would not be worth it to be done right, in order to rescript all terrains would be huge.

Not a big deal, just a thought, something different...for my "different" PC. :)

When I think of PrCs I am always in awe. :) I always think of myself and how I would "use" it, and I would never ever abuse it, so naively think others would not abuse it either, but yes, in ALFA all bases must be covered of course. :)

Like for instance taking "non-RP" terrains just for the bonus... is just not what I would do. I assumed others would plan for the RP of it, as I would, not the mechanics.

And like all PrCs, each level I assume of a PrC is DM approved (i hope) even for those PrCs already in ALFA. If someone chose "Forest terrain" and then for no IC reason tried to take Arctic or Aquatic terrain, I am guessing a DM would catch that for that rare occurence, check that an appropriate terrain was taken and then proceed...

In all honesty I just wanted an appropriate PrC cuz they're cool, and the way Bu has been for well over 2 years suits it very very much. And he has been on more terrains than most.... including Hell (or Hades), i'm not sure where that was but getting out at the time was all we were mainly concerned with, not the flora and fauna between demonic attacks. :)

Bu was initially made as a Stealth druid, with plans to only become a Shifter later on.
I had no idea between NWN1 and NWN2 that Shifter PrC was not even implemented in the game, so that was my mistake.
I did not ask for any remakes, I kept him as he is and am very happy for it. My proposal years ago for Shifter was denied so much as to "never ever" be in ALFA, so since then, i've been searching around for something cool and in fact HW "now" suits my PC even more. (because Shifter is forever not an option).

If even a "very, very, very" tamed down version ever got made, i'd still take it.
Hell I wouldn't even care for any in game advantages wrt the PrC.
Just the name.
If I am not mistaken, it was you Zelknolf who initially proposed once to me in a tell a few years ago, that Horizon Walker would suit Bu. That made me smile.

That being said: This might bake your noodle a little folks:

I wonder who would believe me if I said I would take levels in "Horizon Walker"... with no in game bonuses at all. :)

Entirely RP related advancement, besides Hit points and BAB and Saving throws of course (based upon Druid advancement i guess since that's his favored/pure class).
I don't even care for spell progression.
DMs could also have entire freedom to use or deny any part of the "RP powers" of my PC's Horizon Walker levels.
They could let him have "Darkvision" if needed and only if during a DM session, or they could simply ...not. If they didn't want to. :)

See... MUCH MORE LATELY i'm getting the impression that a lot of people around here have a very negative and immensely incorrect opinion about "me".
News flash!: I'm NOT an exploiter, PGer, cheater, nor dishonest. :)

Contrary, to what I have recently found out may be popular belief, (which broke my heart after being here so long), there really are a few bodies out there who think i'm full'o'shit, dishonest, and only out for myself. :( Was really a shock, but there goes my "Mr. Naive" spidey senses again, tingling to let me know to toughen up.

I just wanted something kind of cool for Bu in his old age... something appropriate and different. Not saying it should be, and NOT asking for it anymore, noooo, don't get me wrong. :)

I'll keep looking! :) Thank you for the responses everyone! :)

Well, if it's Bu we're talking about ... mid/high lvl Druid giving up his caster lvls is pretty big nerfage 9 times out of 10 even in ALFA; I don't think you need to worry about anyone thinking you'd be a PGer with this. :|

I like the new Dan.

Its like the old dan only in less words.
Cost effective.

Gal being an aweful PGer aside, we should make sure the PrC is good in general and not just for a specfic case.

:) awful PGer is what I meant! :) if I was a good or great PGer then that WOULD be bad, thanks kiddo.

....and yuss, a PrC should accommodate the more boring general population, much agreed.
