Hi guys - I just wasted an hour trying to get these stained glass placeables to work.
http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=NW ... 583&id=148
I'm still at 1.05 - haven't upgraded yet because of the toolset issues not sure if that has anything to do with it - the placeables are at 1.05 too.
I tried importing the .erf into the mod - you see the placeables listed in the blueprints and can place them but you dont see them - I know they were placed because they are listed in the area contents. Trying to tick the collision/bounding boxes still doesn't show them.
I tried putting the hak into the hak folder - then under module properties associating the hak with the mod - same problem - it is like I am placing invisible objects.
I need that damn Lathander stained glass! So frustrating that I cant figure it out.
Please help!

Actually, not sure. Let me try them out.

Definitely wierd, because they work fine for me.
I put the hak in the My Docs/NWN2/Hak directory, then associated the hak in Mod Props, then imported the erf, then saved the mod. I go to the placeable, select one and it takes about 2 seconds to appear in the area. Great looking placeables, migh I add.
So not sure mate. Hmm.

They worked fine for me too. I'm going to ask you a real stupid question--did you flip them around? They are invisible from the back.

$%%#^&@&
-tried again - still nothing
-patched to 1.06 - and uploading the hak and erf again in case it had been corrupted somehow
-plugins turned off
-everything ticked to SHOW
Still nothing! and now I have to see the #%^$in 1.06 red roofs.
The placeable never appears on the cursor yet I get the little crossbar - when I click as if to place it - it will then show in the list of area contents but I see nothing - from any direction.
Indi and GF thank you for checking for me - but now I am really worried!WTF could be wrong.

Does any hak work in your mod? Try Deep Halls.

OK - trying to see if deep halls willl work - apologies Im such a njub Indy - but the first step to installing says:
Deephalls_1p6.hak:
Hak file containing all models and textures used for all tiles and placeables, also includes a placeables.2da file - this file is placed in the hak directory of BOTH the install and mydocs directories.
This means there should be a folder that says HAK in both MyDocs/NWN2 and in the ProgramFiles/Atari/NWN2...right?
I only see the one HAK folder under the MyDocs/NWN2.
Anyway - ignoring what they said about the hak directory in the INSTALL folder I went ahead and did everything else in the directions and now that I open the toolset I see the new Deep Halls tiles perfectly. But still no stained glass!
Should I do a full reinstall of the game?

Tell you what...wait till GF gets them in the alfa hak, which will probably be the one soon to be released, and see if they work then, because if Deep Halls works and Stained Glass doesn't, the issue can only be something local to your stand glass hak file.
Oh, so maybe re-download, re-export and try again.

Just tried downloading them a third time along with the display mod the guy made.
Same crap. It is as if the show/hide for them has been unticked.
You can see them in the list of area contents and even select them under area contents - while selected I was able to change them from placeable to environmental - I can look at each ones properties windows too.
But there is no image in the toolset or in the properties preview window.

ladyelvenstar : Just found the problem. The erf file was missing the appearance for the placeables. I just upload a new version of the file. Download it and it will be OK ( I hope

)
Open the properties of one of the windows and make sure Appearance is set to anything at all. If not, find the stained glass windows appearance.

Awesome Indio! That was the problem. There is no Stained Glass in the appearance drop down list.
Can I pull that from the Erf or Hak somehow?
Why was it there for you and GF?

Importing the erf alone won't cut it - that just brings in the blueprints the author made (you can create them yourself naturally). The game will need to load the 2das, textures, and models associated with those placeables so be sure the hak is either attached to the module or its contents are dumped in the override folder. If you imported the erf BEFORE you attached the hak, try deleting the blueprints and then reimporting them after you attach the hak and save the module. Also, make sure there are no conflicts with the stained glass hak contents in the override folder. Just some more thoughts.

Ive been associating the hak to the mod, saving and then reopening and importing the erf. Still nothing!
Just tried putting the hak in the the Override folder in addition to the hak folder. Still nothing.
As indio mentioned there is nothing under appearance in the properties tab. WAlso nothing in the drop down appearance menu that says "stained glass". Could it be that the hak is missing the 2da appearances??? Is there such a thing?
But there is still the mystery of why indio and GF could see them - didnt we use the same download?

Do you have any 2da's in your override folder?

When this all began the override folder was empty - Indio suggested I try to install Deep Halls to rule out an overall hak problem - I did and it worked - Deep Halls has some 2das in the Override - I just tried taking them out so that the stained glass hak is the only thing in both the hak folder and the overrride folder - still nothing.
Would it be worth taking the time to reinstall the whole game?
