Hey there,
Had a convo with ith and furtive last night about the fact hit piotns are maxed.
I quite liked the nwn1 system of first 3 levels maxed, then weighted rolls for HPs afterwards.
Gave a bit of variety to characters (esp melee characters which have to take defensive/offensive feat choices to reflect their HP levels).
It also meant that the spells and effects based on a varied range of HP opponents worked. Now with maxed HPS on PCs and creatures some of the spells become underpowered and a high level character can have the same amount of HPs as a dragon!
Has there been any discussion about this being a good thing or a bad thing?
It is harcoded so a non-issue? (given the upcoming patch?)
Maxed HPs
Re: Maxed HPs
Don't know what you mean about upcoming patch and relevance to HPs...
I would tend to lean towards canon for all things, including HPs. I think its a little unbalanced that all the monsters have average HPs and all the PCs have maxed HPs.
If it can be done, I say full HPs first level, roll everything afterwards.
Of course, that gives the problem of PCs whom are already with some levels under their belts, will have much higher HPs. Will we let these be grandfathered? Ask them to recreate PCs? Pain in the butt for DMs and players alike.
I do think its better to change it now, if it can be done.

There has been lots of discussion of this in the other thread. I believe it started here:Dorn wrote:Has there been any discussion about this being a good thing or a bad thing?

Let's continue the discussion there as it is still ongoing.

As I locked the above thread, I am opening this one back up again.
