Noticed the DB search feature up, very nice!

I do like Indio's idea above of using caching. I think we could see some real performance increases, especially for distant servers. We would run the risk of losing data, but i think that if we set it up in a regular interval there wouldn't be a chance of losing much at any time.

Is it possible to cache the data in a local DB, then update the central DB every 24 hours or so?

It might really reduce lag.

A doorway that I run through in the night
Relax child, you were there
But only didn't realize and you were scared
It's a place where you will learn
To face your fears, retrace the years
And ride the whims of your mind

Actually no, the better way to do this would be to do the caching within NWN itself. Have a check in the script every so often to see if anyone is on or 24 hours has elapsed, then write to the central DB.

It should damn near eliminate the lag people experience without any extra bells and whistles.
