It be easier to just set the tags of said areas to read as: "Anonymous" rather than the area. Ja?

Eh - it'd be the same effort to make the area names not show up on the tool as it would be to make those people just not display.
Personally, I think it'd make for a cleaner and more readable tool to just have it not talk about the people in non-public areas. (and, to be honest, such a tool is downright silly if it looks for anything other than public areas. Who cares if there're 3 people in 'Tavern Backroom B'? Not like you could wander there and find some random RP.)
In response to using tells, I think that's plenty nifty for getting to play with people you already know, but less-than-ideal for trying to meet new people, and we are a difficult group to get acclimated to. I'd think a little doodad like this would help out in that department, to be honest.

I've used this tool, it works well because it keeps you as an anonymous PC, and has the possibility to exclude your PC from the list.MasterOfEternity wrote:@DMs and Builders and you all: contact "Dragonsbane777" for his player-finding tool. I'm sure he'll share it, because I've seen him space out the goods for everyone. It's really handy. You click it and it shows the location in this sort of format...
Rivermoot has a single individual.
6b Highway W3 has a few people.
Silverymoon Surrounds has a lot of people.
Lady's College - Ground Floor has a commotion.
And even better, it keeps the names anonymous, and you can turn yourself off from the toggle so you aren't counted in searches. For example, 6b Highway W3 has 2 people; one is toggled to be hidden. It would show up as "6b Highway W3 has a single individual."
It's quite handy.

This is great because if Im a thief, i simply exclude my PC from the list and even If Im alone in one area stealing no one will know through this.
I think this would be a great addition. its not the first time this issue i brought up, and we truly need something to help us finding other folks.
i dislike sending tells. Other players might be busy, RPing and sundely they receive a tell, they dont want to break their dialog so they take ages to answer, and in the end they end up saying sorry Im busy. Sometimes it works but I dont see how such a tool would not help even more.

Honestly, I just don't see how you can beat that.

In the 1930s I'm sure people talked with each other and worked out where to meet "in person" but get with the times old man. This is 2008, people send e-mails now and "date" people from half a world away. This wonderfully complex system is a new way of contacting people and bringing together players. Sending tells means you have to *shudders* get to know the person and perhaps strike up a friendly conversation.
I think this new impersonal way of finding people is just what we need. After all, talking to people may lead to tension, strife, an inability to resolve differences, and pretty soon, moderation of the NWN2 game world that we so hardy enjoy.
Disconnection is the best. I bet you didn't even feel that hug either. Lucky you, as I have a tendency to hug rather tightly.
