Do we have a NWN2 version of the ones we used in NWN1?

You mean the prices for spells-cast?Rusty wrote:Do you have the numbers you need?
Cast Spell – Spell Level * Caster Level * Modifier (0-level spells count as SL 1/2)
- Single use, spell trigger (scrolls) – Mod = 25gp
- Single use, universal use (potions/oils) – Mod = 50gp
- 50 Charges, spell trigger – Mod = 750gp
- 50 Charges, command word/universal use – Mod = 900gp
Basically the script should check religion to sell specific religious items (Holy Symbols of Ilmater, for example, or robes of Ilmater, shields, etc), then check alignment for services such as clw or aid or stuff like that and sales of scrolls and potions of clw or other common. God doesn't sell to evil or neutral, evil doesn't sell to good or neutral, etc.

Are we OK with the "metagaming NPC" phenomenon? technically Joe Acolyte shouldn't have a foolproof unlimited sash of Detect Alignment and Diety, and at a minimum, I don't think we'd wanted scripted NPCs "outing" any PCs who have secret patron dieties.
Is there a way to keep the "flavor" of priests helping out their brethren without going OOC with it? Convo option to identify as their faith, with a bluff/sense motive option? Persistence for your success or failure (hay, aren't you that guy who was pretending to be a faithful chauntean last week?).
I can imagine how some of these could be done, but I'm not sure what we're willing to settle on- would be nice if we could do it "right" the first time, though, and make it available for everyone.

Healing services may be free to anyone who asks for it at some temples (the compassion of good to prevail over evil) so I don't think this option should be ruled out completely.
I never liked the alignment checks either - unless the conversation leads to that somehow - so I would suggest instead that NPCs perform faction checks for any items or services that need to be controlled. Faction reputation and rank could then tie into this as well at some point.

Absent detection magic (which might be a horrible invasion of privacy, which some good faiths might avoid), could still have a fun dialogue tree with some bluff/persuade in it, depending on whether it was the first time you'd ever met a priest, or sometimes bypassed if your reputation with them was good or bad enough to not bother.
"Yes I'm a follower of Lathander" (True)
"Yes I'm a follower of Lathander" (False - Bluff DC x)
"I'm not a follower of Lathander, but I believe enough in his mission that I think our interests align." (True and Persuade DC x)
"I'm not a follower of Lathander, but I believe enough in his mission that I think our interests align." (False - Bluff DC y)
"I don't care to discuss my faith, but I seek your aid, and am prepared to make offerings accordingly" (Persuade DC y)
"Shut your prayer hole and get to work, or else" (Intimidate DC z)
Obviously just a sample, but setting an Int I guess once and forevermore, or overriding a LocalInt by sticking a token in PC inventory ("Friend of the Silverymoon Lathanderites") as a RP reward, that's better than instant meta knowledge that someone's of an opposed faith, or faithless. Maybe sometimes healing would be free, sometimes at the price mentioned above by Rusty, other times, grudgingly offered at 2-3x the market rate (such as to someone boorish, a liar, whatever).
Naturally, non-scripted Priest RP could result in a no drop "Friend" or "Foe" token, or even as the result of a related static a token (or LocalInt) could end up existing. "Oh good, you're the lad/lass who polished our special candlesticks *wink* Come back anytime." Degrees of reputation/friendship might also be accommodated with figures like 0 to 10 as a LocalInt I guess (do 10 favors, end up at a "10" where healing is free, though you started at "0", where they'd let you expire on the floor, or "5" where they'd take your money, etc. Depends on how harsh the faith is.)

Note the klunkiest system would just have the priest issue a 0.0 weight no drop "FRIEND" token to PC inventory if he passed possibly any of those checks, or a 0.0 weight "FOE" token on fail. Convo would thereafter always be influenced by possession of the token, no more 20 options, just "oh you again."
Maybe the intimidate one you'd only pass once and not get a token, unless it was a KOS token (which the temple staff would react to) that would materialize in your inventory as soon as you used the AT to leave the temple. Next time you visit, you find out what their prayer-holes can do.

Well, the good aligned priests will give free healing based on rep, and perhaps other services, but they will charge for more advanced stuff.
For example, a priest of Ilmater will give free healing CLW for the injured, but not raise dead.
There will be some degree of meta as priest will recognize followers of their own so they can open up the priest goodie merhant. However, instead of
"Welcome follower of Bane, here are some goodies for sale from our private stock"
He'll say something generic like
"Welcome to our temple, do you need to purchase any supplies"
where in one of two merhcants will open, a generic one with regular supplies available for anyone (ie writing paper, bandages, healing kits, etc) or, if the person is a follower, a more specialized merchant will open with mundane goodies as well as specific religious items such as Holy Symbols and pretty shields with religious symbols on them. That way other members of the party won't necessarily know.
Now, of course, this opens a new thread, do we increase rep for certain quests?
