Two new great leaps forward

Post by Thangorn »

Obsidian has released two very important packages -:

1. A dedicated server creator available here

2. A 3dsmax animation plug-in for nwn2 available here

Looks like things are finally starting to take shape. Now if they'd just fix the custom tlk thing, we'd be sweet as pie.. mmm pie.

Thats about all the info they've given. I suggest downloading it and checking for readme documentation.

No readme in the file unfortunately. My guess is that it does what Tani's compressor does, stripping out all unecessary files for hosting. But we'll see.

It packages everything you need to host a server into a folder, which you can then put on your server machine without having to have NWN2 installed.

Stellar news indeed then. I can now see how well my laptop hosts a mod.

Has anyone played with the dedicated server installs yet?

I might tinker with it this week if I find time, was just curious if anyone had experience to share with regards to it. Interested to see how great a difference the hosting requirements for it are from our NWN1-ALFA server hosts, maybe we can utilize some of the hosting expertise that's still floating around from the first round, at least during the beta stages.
