NWN2: 1.06 Hotfix (Do Not Update)

Post by AcadiusLost »

Obsidian has released a hotfix to 1.06 that is supposed to sort out some crashing issues some users were having. I've not experienced these issues myself. As I understand it, no 2da or script changes come in with the hotfix, but it does increment the NWN2 version number (which breaks plugins and disallows connection to servers on a different version).

So... should we all be updating to the 1.06 Hotfix before we do the ACR update? I don't want to deprive our builders of their toolset plugins, but I don't want to deprive them of their beta testers either. Should we wait until the "essential" plugin tools have been recompiled under the new version, then switch over?

Is the instability issue currently affecting anyone among our buliders/testers to give more reason to speed things along?

I have the crashing when deleting grass thing. So I've stopped deleting grass. *shrug*

I strongly doubt that the hotfix addresses the toolset problems with undo or deletion of grass. Sounded like it was just for crashes on trying to open the game itself, stemming from oddities with their copy-protection DVD-check.

It was minor enough that they didn't even post a description of changes.

If we've got builders/testers who play on other persistent worlds, they may have to update to stay compatible- but for now let's try to keep on the prior 1.06. If Indio, Teric, Thangorn, Aelred, or GF wants to chime in if/when their mission-critical plugins have been updated, we can consider an update at that point.

I haven't updated and won't be till 1.7.

The toolset's undo function is dynamite currently, capable of exploding at any time, and I just don't use it. I've got some other issues as well, but all can be worked around with a little patience.

I won't update again until 1.07 - I didnt even want to update with 1.06 but did so when I reinstalled the game due to the stained glass mess.

The red roofs are really annoying when you are building interiors - I know they will fix it but it is just annoying. An Im staying away from the undo feature too. Also no undoing grass or water (Cipher!).

We'll stick with the Standing Arrangement now, not to update to the hotfix for now. I don't know if they have a rollback available or not, so if we get a few locked into it, we may have to reconsider- but for now, spread the word not to update.

I already updated to play elsewhere, but I also don't use any plugins so I didn't have any particular reason to wait. Shouldn't matter for haks and textures, anyway.

no problems here..

I wasnt going to update until my plugins get updated this time..

I have no instability really, just a couple of very small graphical glitches in the game client which is more likely to be my card drivers or card settings.
