NWN2: Canon Confusion

Post by Vae'rye »

First off, Im a N00B, so if this has already been answered, blame my condition as such, but:

I hear it has already been ruled that alfa pc's as of now, will not carry over to ALFA nwn2...but I also have read that ALFA strives for the creation of a canon, persistant world, as this greatly contributes to the immersive enviorment we love to play in. Yay for immersion.

However, wouldn't the MASS disapearance of people in game be a valid excuse for MASS confusion in game? I mean from what I read, some of the current PC's are pretty damn influential on their own servers. SO...I have a few questions.

Will this be solved by placing NWN2 ALFA in the future from the current ALFA....will there be some dm run event that offers a way to effectively wipe out your pc in game? How will this work? Again, if this has been adressed to death, blame the condition as such :P . Thanks,

Depends. If you wish, your PC can be NPCed for NWN2, but then you are giving permission to any DM for the server its NPCed on, current and future, to play the PC, and possibly screw it up due to not knowing the NPCs past, and that might not make you happy, especially if your NWN2 PC happens to meet your (now NPCed) NWN2 character :D. I think we will basically be saying those PCs went off and lived the quiet life, of are out adventuring like drizzle the drow.

As for ALFA Canon events...i have no idea, i think it is probably being left up to the HDMs of whatever servers are allowed in NWN2. To be sure, there is far too much ALFA Canon to remember, especially since alot of it never gets documented. Forcing a HDM to remember all these events and carry them over would be nearly impossible.

If a HDM of a current server gets the same server for NWN2 though, i can see those canon events carrying through.

Although fun, it would be no challenge whatsoever for me. And no challenge equals quick boredom....I mean why play drow when I am one in RL?

If your thinking this much about NU, I've already won since your going to play here eventually even if it isn't with your first pc.
