Re: BG Down with no ETA
Yes, I think that probably needs some help. I have an image of TSM's Linux VM (which is relatively portable to new environments), but that expects to run under Hyper-V and not VMware. We could consider rigging up a temporary VPN to use its vault connection as a stopgap, but that takes an extra depen...

Re: ACR v1.90 Released
These directories ought to exist by default for installs created by the standard installer. Nonstandard installs, i.e. from the "Dedicated Server Creator" (which is to be avoided as it doesn't set things up properly), may have the issue though.

Re: Help me build a host box for WHL
SSD is not really required as basically a host computer has almost everything in RAM. An SSD would only make it faster to load the module. 8Gb RAM would be better I think. Granted, nwn2server cannot use more than 3Gb but the rest of the system can use the 5 other gigs. @Basilica: we have lost conta...

Install latest CE to bring back the in-game server browser
As a public service announcement: The latest 1.0.0.22 CE version, which was recently released, adds back the in-game server browser that went offline when GameSpy went down. ALFA and a large number of other PWs are listed in the new server browser. We are listed under the Role Play section. You can ...

Re: One/Two Servers To Rule Them All
There are sound technical reasons to not consolidate everything into one server instance. We already have an integrated cross-server presence and messaging system. Finding players logged on to other servers is not really very different from finding someone on the same server instance. The primary ba...

Re: Monsters can see through walls?!?
Yes, you must not strip out the server to a limited set of data files. This is a tricky gotcha unfortunately. The model files contain the collision meshes themselves. Without having access to the models, the server treats the models as essentially transparent for mechanics calculations. Specifically...

TSM is down due to an issue with our upstream provider. I'm working on getting some information from our provider.

Re: Area instancing system documentation
1.87 changes the instancing system behavior : - The spawn system now automatically activates for spawn points in instanced areas as you would expect (and spawns are despawned on instance release). - Instanced areas now have automatic cleanup enabled by default on a 60 second timer. Set the cleanup d...

Area instancing system documentation
The last several ACR releases support an "Area Instancing" system that can be used to create parallel copies of an area (similar to how instances work in popular MMOs). There are many potential uses for area instances, from instanced dungeons, player housing, to even instanced wagon interi...
