Re: Tavern Knowledge (II) - post your rumours and gossip here

What was left of a small hunting party of four, the leader of the group, a local Dwarf of Settlestone was heard returning with the meat from a very large stag. The stag was immediatly fed to the populace in a great feast, while the meat was also used to slowly get nourishment to those starving and c...

Re: Tavern Knowledge (II) - post your rumours and gossip here

Trails leading to Settlestone have been littered with dead bodies from envoys carrying food, starved people from Settlestone, and various other groups that could potentially be robbers. It's no small rumour that it has become exceedingly dangerous to travel fourthpeak and there are whisperings of on...

Re: Detect Evil and you.

So what happens in a wooded area when detecting evil? Do you think it would dampen what can be detected?

Re: Tavern Knowledge (II) - post your rumours and gossip here

Rumours among travelers from Settlestone speak of a massive food shortage among the populace and having been unable to procure themselves a meal while there. Also envoys from Settlestone are asking aid from other settlements to help the starving. Many of the merchants have been seen tossing and burn...

I should have thought about that when I posted but I spaced out.

I apologize for the misunderstanding.

Re: Role-playing faux pas

I think the issue came when you made it personal over a pet peeve after saying "this is advice for becoming a better roleplayer." It is advice and if people want to take it personal when I didn't name anyone other than generally saying I've experienced it on all servers I've been on, that...

Re: Role-playing faux pas

Well it's a pet peeve of mine, whether anyone likes it or not. I was not refering to anyone specific in ALFA when complaining because I have actually rarely seen it here.

Re: Role-playing faux pas

I don't see anything wrong with "looks thoughtful". It's the "is happy to see (so and so)" type of emotes that don't make sense. Other character's don't know what your character is feeling unless you tell them or emote a smile or something.

Re: Role-playing faux pas

*brow furrows, eyes narrow slightly, face reddens from a creamy white to a light peach, eyes move furtively as if attempting to cast blame, knuckles whiten from a slight tightening of the fist, lines in the jaw muscle bulge from the growing clench, sits/stands more stiffly,....* Man! I love that! Y...

Re: Role-playing faux pas

I'm not saying its not legitimate, it's that I've seen it used so much. I've got sick of seeing the emote over, and over, and over, and over, etc, when something else could be emoted in it's place. And I know what it means, trust me I've seen it so much over the years to know what it means, I was si...

Re: Role-playing faux pas

Seems like as good a time as any to let known my major pet peeve and how stupid it really is. There is an emote that I have seen ever since I started playing NWN way back when and it is very prevalent. Having seen it for so long I have come up with some theories on why it is used. -could be a crutch...
