Re: Rumple and Cyb0r

Didn't mean to quite go as far as "outrage", or to offend. Maybe just poke a little ;) Against better judgement to stop after the tentacles comes out, here goes: An enjoyable multiplayer game is a voyage taken together, and everyone has their expectations for what kind of voyage they'd enj...

Re: Rumple and Cyb0r

While in theory it's a nice argument that what happens in private RP between players doesn't have to interfere with DMd stories, I never could compartmentalize. It's hard to unsee a character as a porn actor/actress, and go back to thinking about writing him/her into a fantasy adventure story. Just ...

Out today and next week

hey all,

Unfortunately my next 2 mondays at work can't take staying up until 1am the night before, so I have to bow out. Things will change in February for me, so see you then.

Re: Merging past, present and future of PnP gaming

Voice acting no. But the couple of times I've tried, I did find voice allows for much better descriptions of what happens on top of the engine. I felt it allowed me as DM to better keep everyone aboard the situation, to control the flow of the unfolding events. In particular whose "turn" i...

Re: Merging past, present and future of PnP gaming

Anybody thought again about voice comms to our nwn2 game? I think it would increase the feelings of immersion and community an order of magnitude. But I understand not everybody has the chance to blabber out loud in their gaming stations...

Re: Queen Robyn Looking for Players

I'm also kinda a wimp as a DM. Whenever monsters are accidentally too powerful, everything must stop so I can fix it; whenever monsters are accidentally too weak, congrats! Gold star! You guys are the best! And it's really rare for a fight to just... be correct. Sounds more fair than whimpy, given ...

Bahatur: "The most disgusting day of my life"

One thing I swear after this, I will never complaint about Vug's smell again. Bahatur attempts valiantly to appear brave as he leads the small group of sailors (and maybe adventurers depending on who volunteers) in hacking off grand oak-sized tentacles from an absolutely gargantuan, absolutely dead...

So just to make sure, this occurs at the same time as Zelk's shippy campaign on MS?

Re: New campaign on MS

Happy new year, guys! My participation on next Sun (4th) is teetering. Odds are I'm overseeing a baby that goes to sleep about when we start. But she's prone to forays of waking up and taking ~15mins to sleep again. So frankly it depends on how I feel about trying to immerse in a game while keeping ...

Re: Roll Call

Bit of a family emergency sees me on babywatch until she dozes off for the night. Means I'll be around somewhat late, prolly 20 to 20:30 London time.

Re: ALFA: The next platform

For what it's worth, I've never thought D&D to be very conductive to a persistent world setting like the one we have. Mainly due to the exponential power growth per level. DM-led adventurers, one DM per handful players, and hardcore roleplay are the two elements that I think make ALFA-esque gami...

Re: Fishmen Plan

Sahuagin or not, we need something to show the Scale's crew are not just traders caught by an unfortunate rumor at Snowdown. If we approach them at sea they will defend themselves regardless, thinking us the pirates. A ragtag bunch of foreigners and demi-humans starting a brawl against the local nor...
