Re: whats wrong with alfa?
Adanu , you seem to feel like this with your last thread's comments -- you've lost friends/companions, you don't want to log in without them. While the gist of that is slightly true... it's more along the lines of Zyrus needs support to stay alive in any sort of prolonged right. He's a melee powerh...

Re: Potions are que expensive.
Our stats about wealth dont account for chests and banks. just FYI. ...... Im not sure what this thread is about anymore. But I am sure it kinda made me not wanna drop loot ever. I'm pretty sure we do log and check the wealth on both pchest and any persistent storage connected with a PC. The Tech g...

Re: Potions are que expensive.
Our actual data suggests that the majority of ALFA characters do not get the wealth recommended by standards. Majority of ALFA PCs don't get DMd enough, yeah. But the answer is not to give large amounts of wealth without DMage, because that removes space and point for DMs to work with, likely leadi...

Re: Potions are que expensive.
Yes, Keryn, it's a good point that DMs shouldn't consistently drain PCs of resources, and I've already said I agree. Or if consumables are drained, something should be given in return - perhaps it's something that isn't readily apparent though, like goodwill of a faction that the PC can leverage to...

IC - Two odd figures in the frontier.
Looking about, talking, searching. Laniara and Sywyn move slowly across the wild lands and end up at the Serpents Cowl. There after speaking with some commoners they set their minds in investigating and searching for ruins and tales of old. Sywyn conducts a proper scouting of the region north of the...

Re: Potions are que expensive.
T-ice, you and many people in these boards have this tendency to think everything posted is a complain, and refers alone to the situation of the poster. What I was saying was not a complain regarding my situation. If anything I never had reasons to complain about wealth. I'm here discussing ALFA, ho...

Re: Potions are que expensive.
Though clearly I was a part of the same sessions you were (more often than not not even touching the loot) so each session no matter what was a lose of coin for me but I didnt care . I trusted it would eventualy balance itself somehow. For most of my playing time i've been on the low end of the wea...

Re: Potions are que expensive.
Kid i'm not inclined to agree with you because things are not that simple. The game we play Dungeons and Dragons has a complex set of mechanics in place and is a great part about combat, so we cannot rule out combat situations, and cannot hold the DnD bible in one hand when it fits our needs, and lo...

Re: Potions are que expensive.
They are T_ice when they are provided. Some DMs do, some don't. The fact is, in comparison with Dnd we keep the same prices, though toons fight much much more, and for a longer time. From the sessions with DMs I had some went up to 4 hours, some to more then that. The spells memorized can't last tha...

Re: Neverwinter Nevermore Article ...good read
I think Nwn1 DM client was a bit easier but Nwn2 DM client is not an issue in itself, it just made folks get used to something different which takes us out of our comfortable zone and becomes an annoyance until we get it flowing. Maybe it requires a bit more skill with the client, but I've seen DM d...

Re: Temporary Retirement
Not to add another log on the fire here, but this just reminds me of the "No Amn PC" transfer thing. Someone posted a vote, that ended up supporting that we should extend a hand of friendship to their players, but it turns out they had already decided no. How is it fair we current alfans ...

Re: Temporary Retirement
Veilan I do agree that exceptions should exist, we do not wish to be punished by the very rules we create to protect ourselves from problems that may arise. Though I do think that even the exceptions should be based in something that is plain and clear for all to see, otherwise it is easy to point f...

Re: Proposal for a Charter Amendment Regarding Activity and
OMFG I totally agree with Swift!!! its a miracle :) 3. Is it fair that only NOW through the careful and clever observation of trend data that active players are being punished for minor errors in their play while EGREGIOUS long-term (4-6 years worth) violations of these same rules have been document...

Re: Proposal for a Charter Amendment Regarding Activity and
I'd say if you are building things (forums, tech, servers) that should count as activity. The OP is about people who literally are not present anymore, at least that's what I took out of it. It's a valid point in that respect. Problem is Castano who is not active? O_o What brings this problem up?
