Re: Possible Open Source replacement for NWN

there's already replacements for most of what nwn does via programs and websites like maptool and roll20.net. no 3D graphics or big empty persistent worlds to wander around and deliver mail in, but in turn you don't have to deal with the cumbersome nwn2 engine and can include all the stuff from PnP ...

Re: Let's Buy: NWN2

gamersgate has it. I think there was some D&D licensing dispute with Atari which is why it's not on Steam anymore.

You probably don't even need a legit CD key to play online anymore now that Gamespy is permanently down. wink nudge

Re: Dan's Campaign of Awesome, with a dash of Heero!

Smarter folks will know better than me. That worked, thanks. If anyone else has this problem, just go here http://download2.ala...

Re: How to bring back the people?

The allowance of multiple characters per player (something that seems to be in the works) is a step in the right direction. Playing a level 1 character when everyone else is leaps and bounds ahead of you in terms of experience and equipment is Not Fun and was the main reason I gave up the last time ...

Here's a scan from the Grand History of the Realms book giving a summary of what happens lore-wise in the years leading up to the spellplague or whatever, if anyone was wondering: http://img366.imageshack.us/img366/93/crapwd5.jpg

I don't know much about the new mechanics yet, but the stuff they've released about 4.0 Forgotten Realms seems pretty contrived so far. Helm is killed by Tyr for some reason and Cyric ends up murdering Mystra, which causes a major cataclysm and conveniently gets rid of a bunch of lesser deities. Sho...

If there's one lesson we should all take away from this, it's that you gotta chew your food.

Because it goes against the fundamental Judeo-Christian beliefs this country was founded upon, of course! Now please look away as we invade smaller countries based on nonexistent evidence and execute our own citizens.
