Sorry for the long silence. I've been switching jobs/moving/etc but things have settled down now. In response to Arc - I have not used any of the beta features of NWNx4 for script profiling, though there are a number of threads on this topic in the NWNx4 forum. I am sure we could get something start...

Update on 1984 Logging System: I have installed a test system at my house. It is three computers: one runs the server, the other a mySQL DB, and a third is for client-logon and testing. I am running NWNX4 v1.07 as a system resource. All machines are running Windows XP. Here are some preliminary obse...

this is great someone posted this to the community. The resref system is a killer without a look up table like this.

Interesting work, for certain.

As far as relying on their ODBC vs. NWNX4, I personally think that NWNX is a much safer bet considering its proven history and excellent support.

For more info, check out my thread in 1984 Logging.

Yes, thank you indio. I read it in detail before preparing my proposal. While I couldn't accomodate all the issues, I hope I covered the majority of dev/DM/player concerns. Please let me know if there is something glaring I am leaving out. As far as the mySQL server going down... I will put the serv...

No problem. I will take over as 1984L lead. Thanks for the support. I've already put a msg into Hialmar; he will obviously be a great avenue of direction and advice. On the topic of getting game data to the database, I spent most of last evening going over the available possibilities with a network ...

Feature Specification: 1984 Logging

1984L Project Specifications Background: In order to prepare the following proposal, I read all the available threads concerning the proposed use of a logging system in ALFA2. I have tried to incorporate as many suggestions and ideas concerning this as possible. When opinions differed, I have necess...

Thanks for this information, Ciph. This really helps me see the entire project as a whole (for the first time). Honestly, things look far better than I was assuming; it looks like you and your crew are running a real profession show here. As far as the logging thing - I assume the term '1984 logging...

Base Mod Help

hey guys, I was the dev from the Moonsea team saying that we really needed a complete base mod to assure a smooth beta build. Therefore, I am looking to put my time where my mouth is and offer a hand to help get it finished. Please let me know if my help is welcome and if so, what you would like me ...

A thought about pricing... maybe I don't understand the problem: is the issue about PC's selling items to vendors for mad cash? If so, it's not elegant but can't this be handled on the vendor side? Just slam dunk the vendor buy percentages or their max gold purchase limits. Or is the issue that we a...

Rusty pretty much confirmed all of my fears and worries about developing in the absence of a clear specification. I have worked on other such projects where the entire core content required stripping and changing because of this. It is very disheartening to developers. I agree with him that while a ...

Hi there. Most of you don't know me, but I've been working on the Moonsea - Alfa2-06 project as a builder and writer since November. I would like to offer a couple of thoughts: 1) getting to Beta. I agree completely with Heegz that we should try and get certain segments to beta as quickly as possibl...

New ALFA Member

Hello to all and thanks for the accepted application. I'm really looking forward to getting to know and work with this community. It's been awhile since I've been in an NWN community (since Greyhawk Lords, if anyone was involved in the early days of that). But I have played NWN, mostly with friends,...
