NWN's still getting patches in 2024. No, you are still sane.

Thought some old ALFAns stumbling across the forums again from time to time, might get a kick out of this: https://www.pcgamer.com/an-old-bioware-rpg-just-got-a-big-new-community-patch/ https://i.imgur.com/ukTdVxx.png It's 2024, and NWN1 (the Enhanced Edition, at least) is still getting updates and ...

Re: NWN1 is still going strong!!! WD and MS

Absolutely & thanks for posting Rick. NWN: Enhanced Edition has been an incredible gift to the community and NWN in general is thriving, which is amazing to see given this month marks 20 years since it was first released. Particularly exciting have been graphics upgrades recently that IMO have t...

Re: New way to play?

For anyone who's interested in playing with ALFA folks, FYI the 'unofficial' NWN: Enhanced Edition servers have decent player populations (though Moonshaes is quiet at the moment as we're just about to release a big update). Daggerford is about to go from beta to live and be hooked up to Moonshaes, ...

Re: Monastic question

For (unofficial) ALFA1 Moonshaes and Daggerford we still have the old ALFA Player Manual: https://drive.google.com/file/d/18vOURDhE690S-c8HftwSNRtCdWGb7x62/view See page 52: Monks Monks who multiclass are never again allowed to advance as a monk, having lost the focus required by their stringent lif...

Re: 19 years on: the NWN1 character models & armour upgrade patch

Great to see NWN1 still getting love. The ease with which it could be modified and allowed you to be creative even as an amateur really set it apart, in my opinion. I'll go grab the update and see if it makes a difference for myself. 8) I recommend these two small override packs to folks playing on...

19 years on: NWN:EE - the HD characters & equipment patch

edit - update as of 22/02/2022 - it's recommended that you use the community's version of the official HD pack, as it has fixed a large number of issues with the original (beta) pack from Beamdog: Userpatch version on the Neverwinter Vault: https://neverwintervault.org/project/nwnee/hakpak/original-...

Re: The long road home

https://i.imgur.com/tSwJqy0.png Elyas stood on a small mound of earth, looking out towards the swamp that townsfolk called the Rat Hills. It seemed only fitting. Without a sound, he fished a small, intricately carved ring out of his belt pouch. He held it in his palm, and stood there for a long whi...

Re: House of Heroes Northern Board

A scruffy note is pinned to the board Uktar twenty-something, 1400 Dale Reckoning, Year of Lost Chips A cry went up in the evening hours and the city bells rang with great alarum. Members of the Adventurer's Guild of Waterdeep including myself, and other warriors and such like were called to the wa...

The long road home

Elyas sat at his usual table, the chatter and laughter of the inn's occupants around him standing in stark contrast with his own blanket-wrapped quietude. He slowly raised the tankard from rough wooden table surface to his lips. The hand holding the tankard shook a little and he let it drop, all his...

Re: Mod 6.0 Bug Reports

North Ward - ATs leading into 1W from the south and west have gone Full Inception. Area 2C: the northward ATs (those on the northern edge of the area) should transition you to 1W (north ward). Instead they send you to 1X (north ward). This is true for at least 2 out of the 5 northward ATs in area 2C...

Re: Mod 6.0 Bug Reports

Snookery doesn't appear to be offering Leucrotta bounties to a lvl 9 character who is a member. The convo text with the bounties NPC says 'lvl 9+' for turning in leucrotta heads.

*A note is pinned to the board. Those familiar with the hand of the author may detect a shakiness to its lettering that betrays a great weariness on his part.* To all members of the Guild, and all friends who share an interest in our recent martial endeavours, The raid on the Castle Ward rat hold wa...

Re: Mod 6.0 Bug Reports

Broken northern AT in North Ward, 2C. It mistakenly takes you to 1X, whereas the area that's actually north of 2C is 1W. edit: Missing area transition - 1W heading south into 2C. The larger central street on the southern edge of 1W is missing an area transition. Thanks Just seen that this one is sti...

Re: Mod 6.0 Bug Reports

Entrance to the Goblin Warlock's room has a walkmesh flaw which prevents access to the room and can make your PC get stuck and (if your PC keeps trying to walk forwards even when stuck) suddenly transport themselves to a position in mid-air way above the area. The flaw is just beyond the door itself...

Re: Plague Board

*A brief note is pinned to the plague board* To those who seek to venture into the sewers: The Plague Rats have returned in force to the southern sewers once more, even to the area close to the southernmost Dock Ward entrance. Do not venture below save in groups, and do not go without medicine to cu...
