Re: NON-ECL Drow and Duergar, oh my!

To me, it boils down to effort and time that is needed to incorporate it. If it is too much of a pain in the rear and will take time away from scripting that could be done in other much needed areas, it simply it is not a viable idea until that time frees up. As for the idea's lore and advancement r...

Re: NON-ECL Drow and Duergar, oh my!

Again, if it were to be done, it would be an option, not the rule. In other words, it would be a choice for players who do not want the ECL. If a player wants the ECL, play the drow as designed. The "drow-lite", as it were, would not be meant to take the place of the ECL drow, but an optio...

Re: NON-ECL Drow and Duergar, oh my!

For folks who want to play ECL drow, play ECL drow. Knock yourselves out. This proposal is for folks who want to play drow and see some advancement (i.e. our casual players for one). That is why I propose this option as a player's choice. Problem? It is definitely not a problem. It is an enchancemen...

Re: Importing files into a mod that are not .erf?

Way ahead of ya. I have been using NWN2 Packer for some weeks now :P I just wanted to check and see if there was a different way--the open directory is the way to go.

Re: Importing files into a mod that are not .erf?

Wow. That is an awesome improvement over NWN1! I took a look at what indio has done and it is rockin'! I already had Skull Island built and he didn't have it which is ubercool mutualism. Thanks for the help guys. When I get back in town tonight, I will be neck-deep in the toolset and I can't wait!

Re: NON-ECL Drow and Duergar, oh my!

Some of the PW worlds I have visited have custom races at character creation. It would be great if we could figure out how they did it. I will check and see which ones have this option and pass them along. Otherwise, yeah, we may have to customize each PC as they make their decision. A pain, but I w...

Re: NON-ECL Drow and Duergar, oh my!

LORE I would glad to address lore from my standpoint: - Drow - As is canon for drow, when drow are away from their irradiated adamantium for an extended amount of time, they begin to loose their innate abilities. Whether this means that the non-ECL drow PC spent long periods on the surface or stayed...

Re: NON-ECL Drow and Duergar, oh my!

I would love to give players the option to play non-ECL versions of some of the races that are mainstream in Skullport (i.e. drow, duergar, yuan-ti). This will encourage the playing of those races for the RP aspect of the game and not the powergaming side of it. The benefits of the ECL races are gre...

Importing files into a mod that are not .erf?

I have a ton of files that I need to import to a mod, but none of them are .erfs. Is there a way to package .are, .nss, .dlg, etc. files into a format that they can be encapsulated/imported into an existing mod? Is it a utility I need to use? It is essentially a mod that is in a directory format (ac...

NON-ECL Drow and Duergar, oh my!

Yes, you heard correctly. What I am proposing would be an option for drow and duergar players, especially favorable for an environ where those races are dominant (i.e. Skullport, North Underdark, etc.). Essentially, until ECL is figured out, you can give players the option of playing these races wit...

It was apparent to Mik'laysee that Yathtallar Ghenni'sala Faen Tlabbar had rapidly become bored of sitting. Rising gracefully to her feet, she sauntered over to the old bard as he continued his tale. "The complexity of a city such as Ched Nasad can be quite daunting to visitors because of its m...

A Bard's Confession: Mik'laysee Ze'Marri

A Bard's Confessions: Mik'laysee Ze'Marri The spider carved room was far more pleasing to the eye than the old bard expected. Silky black tapestries, rugs and sheets with vibrant red highlights seemed to be the pervading theme throughout. Lustful paintings of naked drow performing unspeakable acts ...

Rizaria regarded the succubus warily and eased her stance, slowly sheathing her kukris back into their hidden scabbards. While listening to the succubus' words, she considered the implications of the demoness joining them on the dangerous endeavor before them... She could be valuable, but she sure a...
