pragmatic (adj.)
The opposite of idealistic is pragmatic, a word that describes a philosophy of "doing what works best."
From Greek pragma "deed," the word has historically described philosophers and politicians who were
concerned more with real-world application of ideas than with abstract notions. A pragmatic person
is sensible, grounded, and practical.

I know Castano has a small fund set aside for this. I don't know how its chosen who they go to.
Current PC:
Pc 1: Kalavaria
Pc2: -
Retired PCs:Kyrinil, Isabella, Sayset, Iadeth, Araessa, Kalix Silvith
Past PCs: Astri, Navanna, Vess, Isett

<paazin_> I hate you.

Puny: I would stomp on a spider wearing my future babies face.

Boom: I hope he dies in a flying aids fire.

if they are serious about RPing then yes I'll buy them a copy. I reserve my fund as follows:
(1) returning ALFAns who for whatever reason don't have a game copy
(2) new people who the recruiter thinks are awesome.

Miscommunication happens in any community and between all kinds of people all the time. I am unsure whether it is a good metric for resilence.

Now, with miscommunication, a helpful further approach could conceivably be clarification; on occasion it's been known to yield better results than being curt with each other :P.

Castano: Boom wants to know where his copies are, he gifted them to ALFA, and thought somebody might be able to provide helpful information as to what happened to them and whether they are still available to new members, or have already been used for that purpose.

Boom: The last "player retention" guy I knew was Wild Wombat, who seems to have disappeared. In what form and fashion did you gift those copies to ALFA? That information might greatly facilitate attempts of tracking them.

Cheers,
The power of concealment lies in revelation.

I think Aitana was head of admissions for the past several years as well.

Aitana resigned as head of admissions after Duncan got banned. The current head of admissions is Loulabelle.

As for this:
Veilan:

Veilan is right - if miscommunication lead to the failure of the community, ALFA would have died more than a decade ago - we have a long, glorious, and often flaming-hot history of miscommunication on these very boards. Hell, its more fun that way ...

boombrakh wrote:After some digging and contact with GOG.com support I've managed to track down the last gifted key which I have now claimed and used. My friend will download the game and write an application. Hopefully this was the first and last issue we'll encounter in trying to recruit new members. At least as far as she is concerned.
Awesome! Boom, I was not meaning to be curt, just trying to convey that we have no repository for stuff "gifted", because ALFA can't hold property (also your post was lacking in info, such as who and where, was asking a question which of course results in ire around here). GOG keys will be held by whoever bought them until they are handed out. For my part I only buy NWN2 copies for people when they request to join and do not have a copy already.
