Aha rules and structure are needed! thank you.
(yes my post was not actually serious, I wanted people to realise we do need a working charter and rules, without which we would devolve to independent entities).

Bad Castano! Your wit is too subtle for all of us apparently... though it doesn't help there's been so much static noise recently about what various individuals want alfa to become, it wouldn't surprise me if someone demanded this.

I am the last writer of the Charter who visits here with any frequency. If you want to know what the Charter means, or what it was supposed to mean, you talk to me. I can tell you right now that a lot of the rule-making is supposed to be based on the discretion of the admin and the lead admin sorts out which admin decides what where domains are not clearly defined by the charter. If those people are not making decisions and instead looking for a rule that tells them how to think, then they are doing it wrong.
If you want help creating a new charter, go with god...I'm not coming.

I still think we have too many stupid rules and lawyering and too much politics. The rules listed on the server load screen, the sound discretion of the sitting Admin, and real authority in the DMs to run the game world is all we need.

And I'd have to ask, seeing as how you like responsibility soooo much, what responsibilities you've had within this community to give you the rights to conjecture such?

Yes, yes! The boards have been too peaceful since the Running in Game thread was locked.
To be blunt:
Adanu - if that wasn't trolling, Led Zeppelin wasn't the best band to ever play.
All Others - don't rise to the bait!
PS - If any of you punks dare deny the absolute dominance of Led Zeppelin, you will see what a real flame ware is like. Only, in another thread, please.

Conjecture? I asked a simple question. IF you're taking it as anything else, that was not my intent.

Answer for answer then. I do not like, or dislike, having responsibilities within the community. Most roles are simply something that should be done in order for the whole of the mechanism to keep moving smoothly. THerefore I recognize that any role that I may fill is a cog in a larger machine. I often put likes, and dislikes, and most emotion aside when in a role of responsibility (which should be evident when I am not in such a role). Therefore like, and dislike, for me, are set aside.
Your turn.

None yet. I was considering PA a while back before Rumple threw his hat in, and I don't want to try DMA without a decent base of DM experience here.
I did volunteer to work up the database stuff for Spellsword should that be approved, but thus far it's been ignored. I am, however, considering helping to do the narrative writeup.

The charter was written by lawyers in the first place. Not sure more lawyers is what we need.
Ha, indeed, me being one of those lawyers. I forgot all about the Charter until I saw it mentioned in the thread, then all the various passages started coming back, including the passage on how to change it.
Am I defending it? Nope. Am I attacking it? Nope. Just reminiscing - I spent way, way too much of my life pouring over that thing (and the Player Manual, etc.); if I spent that much time, effort and soul on my actual legal work, I'd probably be rich by now. Alas. Actual legal work just isn't that interesting.
