The Guild's Incident Ledger

Post by Uniskorne »

Year 1399. 22nd of Kythorn

Let it be known that on the 18th of Kythorn, these members of the Guild:
  • Eoana Fletcher
    Wren Bluefeather (Guildmaster)
    Hudol Rhyfelwr (Blademaster)
    Ivar Farranson
Made an excursion to Yintros under the pretense of training. They were joined by:
  • Fyrr (surname unknown at this time)
They did so enter the curséd wizard's tower in all order and preparedness. Upon reaching the first room, order began to collapse.

Let it be known these facts:
  • •Journeyman Eoana did suggest that the appearance of a fiend meant greater troubles ahead.
•Guildmaster Bluefeather dismissed her concern, suggesting that E was 'too prudent'.
•Blademaster Rhyfelwr dismissed her concern, thinking her merely frightened and trusting the present
members to be a 'good group', capable of handling any threats ahead.
•Journeyman Ivar Farranson heard both the dismissal from GM Bluefeather and the order to 'press on'
    from BM Rhyfelwr.
•Journeyman F helped dispatch the fiend, citing that it 'went down easy enough' and shared in the
others' interest to why the fiend was in Yintros to begin with. He also saw no reason to retreat.
•It was at this time that Fyrr (NGM) entered the 'Altar Room', and, to quote BM R, 'got weird', running
ahead, soliciting GM B to 'chew him out' for his endangerment of the others.
•The party split, with GM B and BM R running after the NGM, leaving behind the two Journeymen.
•NGM is ambushed as he attempts to leave, denying GM B's authority.
•Journeymen I and E join the battle, however, another fiend appears along with many beetles,
    blocking the exits of retreat.
Result:
  • •Journeyman Farranson was grievously wounded as he sought to aid GM Bluefeather.
Concerns:
  • •Advice from a Guildmember was ignored and dismissed, while her personal character was unfairly
judged as 'too prudent' and cowardly for such advice.
•There was no scout, leading the group to enter above-average danger.
•GM B has expressed her original doubt of BM R's experience with demons at that time.
•GM B also expressed that there was no cooperation between leaders.
•BM R has expressed that GM B 'lost her cool' upon being challenged.
•All Guild members present has expressed a concern that there was no organization and that the party
    split.
•All Guild members present has expressed an opinion that the NGM Fyrr's disregard for caution and
authority was the initial cause of the final results (i.e. Guild endangerment, party collapse, and
    Journeyman F's injury).
Inquiry:
  • •What is the proper procedure upon the appearance of fiends?
•What is the proper procedure upon a Non-Guild Member's decision to deny the present authority and
endanger/possibly endanger themselves and/or the Guild Members present?
•Does the Blademaster (and other such officers) have the right to 'Situational Authority' if the
Guildmaster reacts irrationally during an excursion?
Conclusion and Observations:
Upon reviewing the above information, it is my [MD Madog Millhouse] observation that further education with Guildmembers is required as well as a separate education with Officers and GM. To ensure that future injury to a Guildmember is nullified, a discussion needs to be opened about the handling of above Inquiries and Concerns.
  • •At the time of this report's entry, the NGM known as Fyrr was found dead within the Rat Hills. No foul
    play is suspected.
•Journeyman Farranson has healed of his wounds and has resumed active duty.

Year 1399. 23rd of Kythorn

Let it be known that on the 23rd of Kythorn, these members of the Guild:
  • Eoana Fletcher
    Wren Bluefeather (Guildmaster)
    Hudol Rhyfelwr (Blademaster)
    Ivar Farranson
    Madog Millhouse (Majordomo)
    Trin Stonemender
    Tavarash (Apprentice)
Made an excursion to the Sword Mountains Mines for the express purpose of mining ore for the Guild's use, as our stocks were low. They did so enter Westwood Forest in all order and preparedness. Upon reaching the last leg of the journey, a wagon upon the road was spotted and, nearby, the horse that pulled it, dead and mutilated.

Let it be known these facts:
  • •Blood was found near the wagon, leading the Members to question the whereabouts of the drivers.
•Party was of split opinion whether to journey to the mining camp to solicit help in finding said drivers or to venture forth in the search, as daylight was waning.
•The Blademaster gave the order to follow the blood and find the drivers.
•The party left the road and entered deeper forest.
•At the end of the blood trail, the bodies of the drivers were found but guarding/feasting upon them were creatures later identified as leucrotta.
    •The party engaged the beasts.
•Finding himself overwhelmed, Tavarash sought cover and support from nearby Guildsmen, retreating from the thick of battle.
•Tavarash was felled by a leucrotta which was initially attacking GM B.
•After the beasts were dispatched, a combined effort was made to save Tav's life, but he succumbed to his wounds.
Result:
  • •Apprentice Tavarash was lost.
•Ore and bodies of the drivers were claimed by the party.
•Bodies were returned to the mining camp.
•It was agreed that any ore and equipment found upon the wagon and miners were to be given to the Guildsmen for their effort.
•Tavarash was left to be buried at the graveyard, hence.
•As the party was shaken by this event, a meeting was held within the tavern to discuss the events and answer questions put forward by Eoana Fletcher.
•The party split, with GM B and MD MD choosing to retire within the tavern.
Concerns:
  • •That the party took too long discussing paths of action instead of reacting upon time constraints and given knowledge.
•That, even after an order was given, it was still questioned to what actions were to be taken.
•That an Apprentice was lost during this excursion.
Inquiry:
  • •Should 'proper' procedural methods be discussed within the field to reduce possible losses?
•What are the phrases and codes used during field work? Why aren't these taught to Apprentices?
•What is the proper procedure for dealing with 'found' equipment and/or supplies upon a trade road?
Conclusion and Observations:
Upon reviewing the above information, it is my [MD Madog Millhouse] observation that further education with Guildmembers is required as well as a separate education with Officers and GM. To ensure that future injury and/or loss to/of a Guildmember is nullified, a discussion needs to be opened about the handling of above Inquiries and Concerns.
  • •At the time of this report, the previous educational opportunities had been partially fulfilled.
•Future educational opportunities have been discussed.

Year 1399. 28th of Kythorn

Let it be known that on the night of the 28th of Kythorn, that several NGMs entered the Guildhall as guests and were meeting with Guildmembers:
  • Ivar Farranson
    Sarenna Irithyl (LTC)
    Kal (LTC)
    Trin Stonemember
    Clarianna Gardner (Seeker)
    Alora
    Hudol Rhyfelwr (Blademaster)
    Aglorus Starmaarster
    Ryzz
    Keryn Tel'Jora (LTC)
    And two other unknown persons
It was during this visit that one Ryzz lewdly propositioned the hin bardess Alora.

Let it be known these facts:
  • •Alora responded to the unsolicited propositioning with the application of Alchemist's Fire to the Guild's fireplace.
•She followed up with breaking another Alchemist's Fire upon the carpet of the same room (the Lounge).
•Alora and Keryn extinguished the blaze.
•Journeyman Ivar Farranson called for an evacuation of the premises, as it was flooded with smoke.
•All persons involved exited the building and gathered within Kerrigan's Court, outside of the GH.
•It was upon this time that GM Bluefeather returned from personal errands, as she had heard casual mentions of 'smoke coming from the Adventurer's Guildhall' and of the building 'burned down'.
•She addressed the group outside, inquiring as to the start of the fire, the health of individuals involved, and the structural integrity of the building.
•After delivering these answers, the crowd dispersed, with NGMs leaving the Quarter.
Result:
  • •Approximately 500 Dragons worth of damage to the GH's lounge. To wit: Two (2) chairs and one (1)carpet.
•The person known as Ryzz has been banned from the GH, as he was the instigator of the incident.
Concerns:
  • •That NGMs were responsible for the fire and were endangered upon Guild property.
•The casual and irresponsible usage of Alchemist's Fire within Guild premises by a NGM.
Inquiry:
  • •How are we to protect the Guild's property, equipment, and members while still allowing it to be a 'welcoming gathering place for persons of all professional alignments?
•If the installation of locks upon the entries is implemented, what is the view of ex-GMs access to the GH?
•Monthly dues have been discussed for the upkeep of Guild equipment and property, as well as possible rent. In light of this incident, should monetary charges be levied upon NGMs as well to cover possible damage or personal injury?
Conclusion and Observations:
Upon reviewing the above information, it is my [MD Madog Millhouse] observation that greater steps need be taken to ensure the safety and well-being of all who are upon the Guild's premises. To ensure that future injury and/or loss to/of a Guildmember or destruction of Guild property is nullified, a discussion needs to be opened about the handling of above Inquiries and Concerns.
  • •At the time of this report, reimbursement is being sought from Alora for the damages incurred.
•The physical damages are being replaced/repaired.
•The next Guild meeting's agenda will address the above Inquiries and Concerns.
