Waterdeep Blues
*sung in a very pronounced Cormyean accent, like any good country song*
There I was, walkin' way a-ways uptown
Stupid elven robe lookin' like a lady's gown
Heard 'bout somethin' good, fine coin for a little work
But the boss man there was loony, threw me out just like a jerk
Down and out in Waterdeep
Poor purse light as a feather
Down and out in Waterdeep
Dark and cold as rotten weather
Walked along the fine estates, wind bitin' from the sea
Hard guard said "You don't belong" and so I had to flee
Miles to the west, another wall conceals the City of Dead
Boney Man cut me and I ran again, bleedin' heart-deep red
Down and out in Waterdeep
I wish I could run faster
Down and out in Waterdeep
I need a girlfriend who's a caster
Down along the Southside, hunger fightin' with fatigue
Needed coin for either, but they was actin' both in league
Killed a couple ants by luck, then barely dodged their fire
Runnin' for my life again before things got more Dire
Down and out in Waterdeep
The dawn it starts to break
Down and out in Waterdeep
Owlbear stew a meal will make
With sight half-blind I'm off to find
The House of Baths and Pleasure
They sound fine along with wine
The grandest sort of Treasure
The madam got one smell of me,
She looked and then she screamed
The bouncers pounced and she declaimed
"I'll not have my girls demeaned!"
Down and out in Waterdeep
They call it the City of Splendor
Down and out in Waterdeep
I look like I'm on a three-week bender
