Of Gnomes and Small err Grand Towers [META WARNING]

Post by Castano »

Biddle stared forlornly at the empty hillock in Gullykin...this place needs a proper tower he said to himself...and more importantly a proper mage's workshop. His eyes drifted to the firewine bridge ruins, wondering what fey magic from the old days still lay buried under the rubble...

A group of gnomes entered Baldur's Gate...who knows what they are up to...

Other things to remember - being a wizard is confusing enough, I need to write more things down so I remember them!

The Bell Gang...we saved a girl from being murdered for refusing to become a whore - I hope she is grateful to me, but I doubt her father will let her repay me properly...more importantly we are now all marked by these dastardly men...the only logical solution - kill them all, the harbor beckons for more bodies it seems.

Voran - now there is a strange gnome - strange even for a wizard - the man keeps a bestiary to the envy of all the Gate - even has that basilisk we captured.

Poor Frin never returned from her trip to the Moonshaes...I hope he found our kin in Lantan

Trapper seems intent on longing for her lost Dent forever..I do hope to be of service to her organization - what I hope is a force for good in these dark times. Speaking, err writing of Dent, a strange woman is looking for his old companions - to what end I cannot know, but she sneaks out of the inn window each night...to meet gods knows what.

Note to self - acquire more gemstones!

Work, work, work little gnome!
People talk of bestial cruelty, but that's a great injustice and insult to the beasts; a beast can never be so cruel as man, so artistically cruel.

Oddly that basket is full of the hearts of prostitutes and runaways.

Biddle's magic is dark.

The lich saga continues...will this never end.

Tasked by Jendari, the Tempite cleric, to defend Tempus Tears from the lich's undead horde - with a bunch of Baneites...looking forward to my personal belongings being riffled through should I die...wonder what Baneite Temples use dead gnome bodies for...possibly a ghastly ritual. Make sure to wear new draws, the ones without holes just in case.

In positive news I have located a nearly intact tower just outside the village that would make a lovely home. Maybe the village will offer it to me as a reward for saving them from zombification....

The gnome adds yet another entry to his journal:

"bah humans be crazy I tell ye all. I must pen a letter about this one I met. She offered me a kiss and 250 coins fer a simple potion of invisibility, and when I suggested a lower price and trip to the nearest alleyway next time...ooh did she get mad!

The tower progresses nicely, thankfully the promise by the authorities in Tempus Tears did not include a tower within what I now know to be some holy site of Tempus, but one on the outskirts. Why Tempus would have a holy site full of undead is beyond me, and while the location of the ruined tower is not ideal...I knew I should have studied necromancy!...at least it is a possible home. Hope it doesn't come with zombies, though knowign those tricksy humans it's probably a ploy to get me to clear yet another haunted ruin for them.

Met a bard the other day, Illian, at least he plays the flute for a living, maybe he can compose a proper ode to our grand battle against the giant undead purple worm thing (and come up with a better name for the beast - something sinister and unbeatable sounding). I can only imagine what being eaten whole by that beast would feel like, big people rarely think of such things, but the number of creatures which can swallow a gnome whole is prodigious."

Biddle is seen looking around town for used furniture, and one day he is seen with a hired cart hauling a beat up looking armoire and a very used bed from the Blushing Mermaid north from Baldur's Gate...

I don't get it. Why would a gnome polymorph to a human on off-line time?

Today I paid the workers off for unloading the furniture and mage's workbench at the tower of gnome power. Next was a stop in Tempus Tears to pay the door and window smith (is that what they are called?)...the tower looks grand, it's crumbly exterior projects a sense of power over the lands for dozens of feet if not yards. Now that it has a living owner I am sure it will come to be regarded as the greatest gnome fortification north of the Friendly Arms. Perhaps I can attach a small hut to it for guests.

Oinky seems to love the place, with his bed and grain bin right in my bedroom he's no longer in danger of being consumed as bacon by a hungry human.

*locks the place up tight*
*places a small note on the door that reads: "Biddle's Institute of Counter-Necromancy and Gift Shop"*

I was able to convince Persephone and Tormas to help kill off an Allip that was living too close to my doorstep. Ghosts should not be out in daylight, it's just unnatural...
Now I am at the Friendly Arms temple, seeking a ward against undead..hard to sleep at night with them wailing outside, in fact I spend my nights in town, and days working in my laboratory. Soon I will begin my hat project...if I could only choose the color.
