Victory at last! The Institute has it's first scholar, even though it is one of those tall elves. Now I must begin my work on the positive energy bomb in earnest....a device so powerful, setting it off should wipe all undead and taint from an entire city! Soon the undead will quiver in fear as they look down upon me.

I wish our wizards could collaborate more. Biddle seems like a fun dude.

That should ABSOLUTELY be part of every server. One of the main things that drives arcanaists to leave their towers is components. Although I don't want full arcane component needs implemented or anything, gaining access to arcane resources and advancement based on finding certain key bits and pieces would be an awesome thing!

Back from the Underdark! And with proof being small has its benefits. I bet that tall elf Korlar secretly wishes he could be permanently shrunk. Elves look so much better in tiny form anyway. The secret passage lies in the Wood of Sharp Teeth, near to the innhouse, err compound, where the Lich lived just off the road south of the Friendly Arms. Place is much bigger on the inside than it appears...anyways, that path to the Underdark can only be accessed by the small folk, however the upper cave entrance to the tiny crack we slipped is guarded by a tribe of gnolls. And on the Underdark side lay illithids, drow and very large spiders between the passage and Barren Rock to only outpost of decency in the Underdark. A town of fabulous deep gnomes, need I say more? I think i shall be visiting that innhouse there many times, if only to satisfy my need for bald deep gray skinned companionship. I can write no more on this for my collar grows hot.

I managed to save a few spider eyes and the eye of a drow to boot. One day I will make some darkvision spectacles out of the drow eye - gives new meaning to rose colored glasses...that's not rose coloring my friends - it's dark elf blood!

We also burnt a spider...the biggest nasties thing you ever did see. And slayed a drow priestess, I do hope her allies are not angry with us. The official story is some surface elves slew her, and we were merely passing through Barrenrock. We're too small to slay a priestess anyways, surely it must have been something bigger right?

Oh and I shall soon add maps of the Underdark to our shop, at least those portions visited by one Biddle, mapmaker, explorer and wizard.

That underdark spider was tasty...nice to have a spell that does double duty - killing and cooking.

I have found another cave to add to my yet to be published guidebook:

The Nashkell Waterfall Passageway is the unofficial name I shall give it. I do not know where it goes, perhaps a party could be raised to investigate it.

Well the party ventured forth, a rather large half-orc named Rhaggot and tiny Biddle. And we found the worst thing imaginable, well alright, the second worst...an empty evil temple complex complete with skull encrusted sacrificial altar and a rotting corpse dumped nearby.

Nashkell Lower Waterfall Passage - Evil Sacrifice Temple Complex
This complex does not appear to have any further passages down into the Underdark.

Nashkell Upper Waterfall - Abandoned Mine Complex

Nashkell Upper Cave - Abandoned Mine Complex

Biddle's Guide to the Western Heartlands

Settlements in Order of Importance:

Silverborough
A massive gnome warren-city lies just south of where the Boareskyr Bridge Road branches from the Tradeway. The warren-city is accessible from the Boareskyr Bridge Road, sitting under the High Moor. There is a sealed area tot he back of the warren that requires official permission to enter. The local citizens speak of this passage with dread.

Serpent's Coil
According to locals this village is warded against the wyrms and serpents of the nearby Forest of Wyrms. A boatman will take you to the back lands or the high moor, dubious locations to enjoy yourself.

Soubar

Hills Edge

Dragonspear Castle

Trolf Fold (sp?)

The Device (shhh top secret!)

What would happen if 10,000 Disrupt Undead scrolls were read all at once by an automated scroll reading contraption?

Parts:
10,000 Disrupt Undead Scrolls
10,000 Verbal Enunciation Units
1 gear mechanism with chain, pedals and seat, gnome sized

Now how does one build this enunciation unit? Perhaps a megaphone like they use at the docks, coupled to 10,000 miniaturized apprentice wizards trapped under glass infused with create food/water spells for their care and feeding, and waste removal tubes at the base of course, plus a weekly create rain spell to keep them from smelling - they will thank me later for making them pixie sized I am sure.

The Rivermoot Diaries

We are quickly becoming heroes to the villagers of Rivermoot. I can feel the way they worship us with their sullen looks, barely making eye contact with us as we enter the village after yet another successful quest on their behalf. So far this team of A level heroes, dare I say it an A-Team, consists of Hazerin the dwarf, Ithz the human, a half elf named Alec and of course the famed wizard Aislinn.

The kobold threat has been discovered. Cattle thieves beware - we are watching from a safe distance!
The plantation is secure for now, but what lurks below the ruined temple?
Caves! They look much nicer now that the undead and bugbear are gone.

So we, Golinar the Bard, Susanna a spellcaster of sorts, and myself, (I dub us the Party of Foolish Errands) have come into possession of one of Ulcaster's old staffs found in a dimensional pocket he formed in one of his laboratories.

Seems he had second thoughts about combining necromancy and conjuration, but combine such he did at the behest of a student from Calimsham, one named Raheem. While the conjuration spell imbued into it is mostly harmless and highly useful, it holds a dark magic, one capable of making the dead walk. How to discharge this magic is a subject of much debate. I currently favor animating a few thousand ants with it and keeping them for study in an ant farm - normally a toy for gnomes with a scientific bent - but in this case one we may use to safely study the undead and ways of destroying them more quickly. It will be a painstaking process, but one our students will no doubt enjoy - placing tiny slivers of onyx between the jaws of each and every ant prior to using the staff. This solution is only temporary, for it will not remove the dark seed from the staff, which can easily be recharged by any evil necromancer who comes upon it. It is for this reason we dare not sell or lend the staff to anyone...lest it fall into the hands of dark mages.

We've also to catalogue all of the tomes outlining their research, perhaps there is some clue to combatting the undead in them...if not they will make the library more impressive...simply having a book penned by Ulcaster is worthy of a school of our reputation.

What of the evil wizard who sought the staff and other works of this defunct experiment? Who knows...hopefully he has moved on to other pursuits after we thwarted his plans by reaching the staff before he and his goblin minions could.

Candlekeep is an interesting place, filled with all sorts of books, ah the musty chambers of their library how they call to me. But, what calls even more is this map showing the locations of magical portals. Perhaps we can finish the research mission Il'Larian began for the monks 80 years ago.

Day 1: Entered portal at the base of waterfall near to the Ducal Estate bordering the Cloakwood. A small cavern fitted with rooms, and an altar. And of course ghosts. And the remains of the last party to attempt study of this area. One of the ghosts vaguely resembles a half elf, could this be Il'Larian? Poor chap, though he was less than helpful. We took the only portal exit we could manage to operate, which led us into the wood of sharp teeth. A rather sorry excuse for a portal system if you ask me. Perhaps the other warded portal goes someplace interesting.
