Chronicles

Post by Twin Axes »

It would be great if someone could type up a recap for each session (as brief or florid as you like, as long as we get the main bits). Makes it easier for everyone (including me) to keep track of what's happened. I won't have time to do it since I'll be busy scheming for future sessions.

Session 0
A New Beginning

Session 1
The Soap Opera

attendance: Moss Tarbuckle & Eowane Annondel

Moss & Lark escort Willeie back to Nashkel. As it turns out, she lost her families prized MacGuffin (a golden bowl) in the ambush, because she was travelling after dark. She was travelling after dark, because she had been delayed. She had been delayed, because she spent time with her paternally unapproved boyfriend, "Amver Klemt".

Amver approaches Moss and Lark with a request to help him recover said bowl from the Kobolds, thus redeeming himself and Willeie. The Kobold lair is duly raided, sacked and plundered. Amver returns triumphantly and asks for the hand of Willeie. Moss and Lark return with loot, among which one "ancient looking figurine".

Session 2
There's one born every minute

attendance: Moss Tarbuckle, Dane, Wiljo Tane, Eowane Annondel and, for a fleeting moment, Lunette (that was Lunette, right?)

Moss & Lark find a buyer fort their "ancient looking figurine", one "Maren". Dane and Wiljo butt in and/or are butted in and especially Wiljo expresses dismay at the idol going "cheap". A deal is struck though, involving work the next day on another raid.
The next day Maren leads the party into an ambush. This fails, but Maren gets away because the party responds to cries for help from a prisoner, "Daros Hanteren".

Many you-sos were told and the pisses were off.

Session 3
Can you smell what the Rock is cooking?

attendance: Flower Thoroughgood, Sora Littleknight, Cidylla Heldeion, Assam and introducing, as "Sir Not-appearing-in-this adventure": Bhaerynden of Clan Steelcrag.

One "Daros Hanteren" offers work and a sad story: he wants a map retrieved, which was taken from him during his imprisonment by an unreliable fellow treasure hunter: Maren. Daros hires the PCs (minus Bhaerynden) to return to the cave he was held in, while bringing a guard of his own to safeguard against more treachery. However, it seems an Ogre has found the cave and Maren's accomplices first, and has already started converting them into fertiliser. The party overcomes the Ogre, overcomes the stench and overcomes repugnance to retrieve loot and the map.

Session 4a,b,c
Easy as 1-2-3

attendance: Aron, Moss Tarbuckle Moss, Ando Sollars and our very special guest star: Sora Littleknight.

Easy money: go there, fetch anything old, come back and get paid. That's what Aron, Ando and Moss were promised by Daros Hanteren. So off they go, observed by a blue-eyed, hooded man. First to Nashkel, where the continuing stories of plague in the Amnish heartlands cause much traffic. The three men buy survival gear and the services of a drunk guide (who's name escapes me atm) and head into the Cloudpeaks to a hidden valley.

During their trek they get ambushed by Goblins. During their rest they get surprised by smallish firebeetles. During their wonderings what to do they get accosted by Sora Littleknight, who joins in exchange for promises of charitable deeds.

The party descends into the cellar of ruined buildings, only to find elaborate tunnels, created with magic and infested with hundred-legged vermin. And after dispatching those, a room with corpses proves to be less tranquil than you'd expect of dead people.

To Be Continued...?

Session 5
The Reboot

attendance: Aron, Ando Sollars, "that one" (did Daphne ever use her own name?) and the "other one" (or Ptolem?)

Time to retreat and regroup. Aron and Ando are back in the Gate, and with Moss otherwise engaged rope in Daphne the mechanic and Ptolem who-wears-a-lot-of-iron-so-he-must-be-a-good-warrior. The group sets off, and encounters more. More Amnish refugees, and more (or just tougher) enemies: Gnoll and a Werewolf. They make it to the ruins, admire the harvest-themed murals, break the bones of the harvest-themed animated dead and make out like bandits.

A slightly more detailed recount of Sunday's excursion can be found on Ptolem's personal IC thread here:
http://www.alandfaraway.info/phpBB3/vie ... 93&t=51894
...but you'll just have to sift and grind and try not to fall asleep through my long winded and terribly boring and uninspiring blabberings about Ptolem, my apologies there.
