Folk are Level 2, so Gimme Bios (optionally)

Post by Zelknolf »

Per the title, pretty much. If you're still level 1 because you missed a session, you'll be level 2 soon. It's worth XP, sayeth our existing policies. This is optional, of course, though understanding your characters helps me DM your characters.

I'm not looking for exhaustive dramatized life stories, but a few things that I need to be able to answer to consider a bio complete...
-- Where did the character grow up?
-- How did the character learn the skills they started with?
-- Why did the character take up the dodgy sort-of-lawman life of a privateer?
-- What does the character hope to accomplish in the short term?
-- What does the character hope to accomplish in the long term?
-- What trait about the character makes them admirable?
-- What trait about the character makes them flawed?
I'm not picky about formats. You could copy this into a PM with answers if you like, or send a few paragraphs that cover it all.

(and if you don't have answers to these things, probably a time to mull it over. Especially if you don't have an answer to that last one, or if the answer to that last one is just a sniffle and a story to drum up sympathy, because then you've made a Mary Sue, and the only person who likes a Mary Sue is the author.)

Remmy Stonebolt is from high home the son of a cleric of vergadain and grew up hanging around vergadains followers he learned the trade of thievery and until recently he was occupying a cell in king olafs dungeon for larceny until he received an offer from King olaf who was being pressed by the queen to support her privateer fleet with man power. If he would volunteer then he could earn a pardon for his crimes. The king knew of Remmy’s skill at siege engines which he learned from the dwarven army. Each dwarf required to serve a few years with the army to protect the homeland. Remmy hopes to survive long enough to organize the dwarves of high home into their own guild, to that end he needs to develop skill while he amasses wealth and power maybe even become the Kings spymaster if he does this just right. This is a fantasy of his that he hasn’t grown out of yet. He is fiercely loyal to those he considers a friend and is a dwarf of his word but being a dwarf he is greedy and covets wealth like all his kind. He will not steal from those he considers his crew but everyone else is fair game.
first things first: secure a pardon from King olaf

Thorgrim Ironeater grew up as a young idealistic dwarf from High Home dreaming of serving in he dwarven army until one day his family was traveling back to High Home and was attacked by goblins, only to be rescued by some half-orc adventurers. This event turned his thinking upside down and he struggles with it to this day, he is a devout follower of Moradin, but his cranky and can be sarcastic to most but has a deep love for Moradin but one could not tell by listening to him as he carrys on one sided conversations that sound borderline disrespectful to those that do not know him he has some small skill at sailing and for that reason was approached by a representative of King Olaf about joining the crew of the Queen Robyn. he has made the trip to Corwell seeking out the Capt. for just that purpose.

Damien spent his early years in Amn as the scion of a middle class tailoring family. The Collins family were well respected for their taste, and were devout worshippers of Sune. Galla is his older sister by a few years, but she was in training to become a paladin of the Ruby Rose, so inheritance fell to Damien.... who was not interested whatsoever. Damien was more interested in the world around him, than what is meant to protect you from the elements. This mindset had him clashing with his parents for years, until one day Damien broke and ran away on a caravan to Eshpurta, reacning the Towers of Willful Suffering and requesting sanctuary. He was granted this, and he spent the better part of the year learning from the priests there, but again, never quite feeling like he belonged.

During a trip to the Edive sect of the church, however, Damien met Belinda -a druidess of Chauntea- who was passing through on her way from the farmlands in the east to Mosstone. The two took up a rapport that had Damien fascinated, and for the first time in his life, he felt kinship with someone as he became interested in the druidess' knowledge of nature and of the world around her. He spent a great deal of time with her while there were both there, and once it was time for Belinda to leave a few days later, Damien begged to come with her and learn. Initially reluctant, Belinda eventually relented and took the boy of 10 as her ward to instruct him on the ways of the druids.

Damien spent the next decade in and around Mosstone, slowly gaining the trust of the circle there despite being an outsider, and eventually took the initiation on his eighteenth birthday. Now a full druid of the Mosstone circle, Damien decided to take up traveling as a healer to learn of his world with his newfound sense of purpose, spending the next few years traveling in Tethyr, Amn, and the Sword Coast. Having renounced all ties to his former life, and growing in power, ability, and wisdom, Damien now seeks to safeguard the balance of the world as his brothers and sisters of the druidic order before him.
