I was talking to my friend Larushka about this film tonight. She's a film critic, and apparently asked David Wenham (a Spartan), whether at any point he loked at his polished, oiled, g-string-clad fellow Spartans and thought: "How super-gay is this?"
Apparently he laughed and said, I'd be lying if I said no.
I found this reassuring. Then I came here and realised you're all queueing up to kill my countrymen in Iraq with brave, high-altitude bombs!

This guy needs to brush up on his greek history. I only read a 3rd of the way through and already caught two outright falsehoods. I wonder how many an actual greek historian would count.

Did Braveheart cause similar turmoil between Scots and English when it first came out? This is a film about skimpy males, big spears, and killing. If you want a story that attempts at every moment to be deep, read Walden.
