Now that you've voted in Forum Poll A, vote in this one.

It's interesting, one of the NWC'ers made a comment awhile back about how mature and polite the NWC forums are, and she was quite correct. But that's probably because we had all of our flaming debates back in 2002 - 2003, then formed a general consensus, and now we just play and chat.

With NWN2 causing a rethink of ALFA, and impassioned visions conflicting, I think we're going to be in for a bumpy ride over the next several months. It may be inevitable. Then again, maybe that means it's the perfect time for extra modding.

But +1 on the burnout factor Vendrin mentioned.

Great another slanted poll just like the first one. Read what I replied in response to your first poll and do us a favor and delete them both.

All this is dry tinder waiting for a spark.

In your overzealous attempts to moderate you are going to create a huge bonfire.

This poll is so horribly slanted. I mean mostly everyone would vote for mature and friendly. It's a natural tendency, but the poll is slanted. I don't think many would vote for mature and friendly if the so called mature and friendly enviroment was one where you can't make a post about someone's avatar without it getting edited for being off topic.

Doesn't seem very friendly to me, you know?

my answer is...yes. I would like to see those in the ALFA forums.

You know, the NWN2 forums atm we have here don't seem bad to me. And i've got no problem with extra modding if they don't screw around with the community. Edit out insults, whatever. But don't lock for "bickering" or start editing off topic posts. If a thread gets derailed, good. It means we have a lively community. If needbe they can always repost in a new thread.

I mentioned that in the other poll thread. Don't mix em up. Bad forum ettiquite.

Heck.. of course everyone wants the forums to be friendly.. unless they are trolls. :?

But regarding maturity.. well.. there are topics that require some lvl of maturity and topics that just don't. I am fine with jokes and such as long as it doens't get to personal attacks.

Wait, wait, wait. Are you saying people actually post just to up their count?!?

Sure. Where do you think +1 comes from?

Hell I used to do it all the time. Still do on occassion, but I usually also have something to say when I do. There is no way I would have posted as much as I have tonight if it wasn't for the new mod crew's practices.

Well, to be fair, it also means you agree with the post you quoted. It's not real spam. It wishes it were spam.

Unless you're +1ing a spam, then you're agreeing with spam which is probably spam. Spam is good.

I suppose that's what it means in other communities, along with QFT and such, but in ALFA it's turned into something where it's just a bump to your post count.

I think that's just you. I only +1 what I'm agreeing with. Sometimes what I'm agreeing with is spam, but hey, what can you do.

Maybe so. Either way it doesn't matter. I may have misstated something, which is certainly possible, but the overall answer that people do post just to increase their post count is certainly true.
