Wealth

Post by Fionn »

So, now that most of us are 3rd and getting a bit more in the way of resources, we need to be aware of the wealth guidelines - do speak up if your're getting close to 13K ;)

With the +3 mace of disruption Ayergo gave Tragnar he's probably pushing the limits...

But I'm pretty sure he was given the "holding the whole server together with his awesome RP" exemption.

+3 mace of disruption (assume heavy) should be 50,312, divided by the 5 of us is well within the limits for party treasure. Let's just get that up on ebay!

Wealth seems quite low actually looking at the kits you guys have.i think it's no accident we don't have many tanks as gear is unaffordable.

In particular I hope to hand out more CLW via statics.

If'n it's all the same yer 'oner, we'd like to be able to not be hurt mor'n we'd like to be able to 'eal up after should we carry the day.

Seriously, not just the tanks. Alea can afford a single extra 2nd level scroll. If I can find Ramirez, I think we can trade both ours with trade scrolls, assuming that works, but it's still going to cost most of our gold. I expect the sneaks would like to afford traps, though they seem to be freely available 'round town on several doors.

3-4K should include MW Plate, +1 weapons, +1 ability items, x/day C*W clickies and the like ;) Assuming the other half is used on pots, that's closer to 7K we should be earning before 4th. While 2 GP may seem overly fair for a single rat, most rats don't spit fire and can't kill an adult ;) I think we've got a tight enough group PG farming is unlikely to happen if the scripts don't stop it - who was the Deer Slayer mage back in the day?

Can you document where those doors are? Free traps should not be handed out.

One thing that would be very helpful would be some available daily use or wand-based healing. Most of the servers for NWN2 have such items (rings and amulets usually) that allow for CLW 2-3x/day. These are offered in various temples and they are very useful, particularly if your party does not have spell-based healing or if the spellcasters are not about.

What I am actually thinking is a little homage to a lost ALFAn, put an NPC Paladin named "Sir Belisarius" somewhere in the Adventurers quarters. If player HP is less than 50% he heals you to 50%.

Well, it's like DC 36 recover, so not exactly handing ;) I'll try to get locations next I see them.

For a Ftr 1 CON 18, that's still another 7 IC rests. 7 RL hours if you are seriously focused, or 4-5 days if you can only get in for an hour a night. We might be able to make a Bed placeable with an onUse() that checks rest state and does 100% level 1, and then lets rest script take over. Hard part is making sure folk don't cancel the rest.

I think just increasing CLW rewards should work. Additionally a healer who can cast discount CLW might help if needed. So far toons aren't too trashed, but might be after facing my updated sewers. :)

Just something to toss out there.

Why not just bump all (if they want it) to 3rd level upon entering the server. (one time use xp (3rd level worth xp) and gold (1k per level) wand)

And when they level (if they choose not to take the bump a wand that grants them say 1k in gold per level (up to 3 k max).

So a 3rd level PC would potentially have 3300 gp to spend on gear when joining. Better armor or weapons he could choose.

Just a thought. not sure how hard it would be to do this though. scripting nightmare I am sure.

Indeed. I'm trying to keep all the core ALFA functionality there so we are 100% compliant. Wealth I think will improve after my PCs get their promised reward for fixing the rat problem!
