I have a question about how things are judged as far as priests in ALFA....
Mainly, does a cleric have to choose the canon domains, or can a player just choose any domain they see fit to suit what they want to do with their PC? Also , favoured weapons. This seems almost always disregarded. So , is it fine in ALFA to completely disregard your deities favored weapons, or does than not even exist in ALFA?
I just want to know in case I want to make a cleric, I know what is a rule and what isn't.

Re: Question about Clerics
ALFA has customized domain rewards consistent with (or more consistent with) 3.5 SRD. Domains chosen should reflect the domains that the deity has in its portfolio.

Re: Question about Clerics
Favored Weapon exemptions are not implemented (at least not in Waterdeep/Daggerford/Skullport). If your deity's favored weapon is not on the normal cleric weapons list, you will not be able to equip it.
If the enemy is an ass and a fool and a rating
coxcomb, is it meet, think you, that we should also,

coxcomb? in your own conscience, now?
Former Characters:
(Silverymoon): Q’arq Olafstenza Fry
(Waterdeep/Daggerford): Angus Porter, Cleric of Torm (aka the Slipshod Sergeant)

Re: Question about Clerics
NWN 1 servers don't fall directly under ALFA Pillars, Charter, or Rules.
My answer applies to NWN2 servers Baldur's Gate, Moonshaes, and The Silver Marches.
NWN1 does their own thing, which varies from server to server and potentially DM to DM.

Re: Question about Clerics
Somewhat off topic, but... SF was referring to the mechanical side of things. On the "soft" side, we do expect ALFA members to uphold community rules of conduct when playing on NWN 1 servers.shad0wfax wrote:NWN 1 servers don't fall directly under ALFA Pillars, Charter, or Rules.
The power of concealment lies in revelation.

Re: Question about Clerics
On the NWN1 side a lot of the Domains are borked.
The powers don't work or the domain spells don't work or aren't added in.
It would be a chunk of work to match them up to PnP.
My $0.02: A bit of leeway on the NWN1 side particularly not too bad.

Re: Question about Clerics
EE has domains working a lot better now, and from pc creation what you see is what you get.

Re: Question about Clerics
Any non-working domain power or spell could be worked around with DM help by way of a custom item.
I think sticking to canon domains and favored weapons is a good thing. There are occasional challenges depending on the character. My cleric for instance, favored weapon is short sword, so I took the Martial Weapon feat at creation.
