City Watch of Waterdeep seeks adventurers to curb rat population!

Post by ayergo »

Hear ye! Hear ye!

In light of the recent and increasing rat problem in the southern ward of the city, by order of the City Watch of Waterdeep a substantial reward will be given to those bringing proof of death by means of corpse or tail. Further, the lords have made it known that any who can put a stop to this plague will be rewarded no less than the sum of one thousand golden coins as a show of appreciation. All adventurers interested should contact the City Watch office in the Adventurer's Quarter for more information.

Dear ALFAns and friends of Waterdeep. For some time now I have been working to restore the old Waterdeep server from NWN1. I've finally reached a point where it is playable, and while it still has a number of bugs and other issues there is some good game to be had! To celebrate this the start of the beta testing I'll be DMing this weekend and next. I have spent the last decade or so travelling the world living all manner of exciting and dangerous experiences, and have many great and exciting ideas to bring to you.

Please accept this as my formal application to revive NWN1 and re-assume the position of HDM of Waterdeep.

To come play you'll need the following files:

Hak
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0By3Il5 ... p=drivesdk

Tlk
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0By3Il5 ... p=drivesdk

The server is up at:

173.248.129.158:5121

I'll be around most evenings Bangkok time, though I travel frequently and am often in weird timezones. You can generally find me by messaging me at ayergovich at gmail .

Cheers!

I. Am. In.

I'll get NWN1 installed come hell or high water. Looking forward to making a new PC, and finding a tank, and healer to protect and keep him alive while he collects his 1000 gold!

Cheers Ayergo, great to see you back, and hoping this opportunity brings back a few vets and spurs perhaps even some new blood back... ALFA is a community, it does not need to be NWN2.

Cheers, hopefully see you this weekend, but most likely next as this weekend is BLOCKED busy. But still gonna try.

~G

EDIT: So Ayergo, if I buy "NeverWinter Nights Diamond", i'm good to go? Then DL the haks above and stick em in the NWN1-Haks folder correct?

You will need to get NWN1 Diamond (GOG has it!), and also request a multiplayer key from them. It can take them a few days but they'll get it to you.

Then yup, DL the haks and put it in the hak folder. Also get the .tlk and put it in the TLK folder (which you might have to create).

I nominate this for most interesting post in many moons. I'll have to see if I can find my old NWN1 stuff; if not I'll be visiting GoG I guess :-)

Yup, I have also noticed this and why I think it perhaps best to re-align our strategy for our ultimate mission of creating Faerun. Oddly enough with the rise of virtual machines it is easier than ever to do!

Veilan is on to me! Eeeep!

We've had our first crash! Yay! So I don't have the NWNX watchdog running on there yet because I'd like to gauge stability. Seems like this was the whole server went down though so not sure it is the module's fault.

I still have a lot of "back-end" work to do on the module, but hopefully with some data I'll be able to sort it out.

I like a party as much as the next fella, but this is getting out of hand. On the plus side, my health bar is finally back after 2 days.

They also suggested "Not playing under the 64-bit" but to use the "32-bit" or something or other... does this matter? And how does one switch from 64 to 32? (edit: don't care)

Where do I get the .tlk file? (edit: got it!)

When I bought the game from GoG, there were 2 items to DL. The first one was small... the second one was big. I assume when they're downloaded, I just run the first one and the computer will do the rest yes? The first one looked like a "Set-up/installer" thingy... or, do I "Run" the big second DL? (edit: done!)

Now have to wait for my multiplayer key..........then game on!
