Discord seems to be dominating communications for gaming communities. It handles multiple sessions between devices, multimedia, voice chat, with future screen sharing (useful when helping with the toolset!) and the like. Main benefits of Discord:

• Synced messaging between devices. Carry a conversation from your computer to your phone.
• Multimedia-friendly. Post screenshots of what you're working of in the toolset without having to go upload it somewhere.
• Discord is often and seamlessly updated to fix issues and provide new features.

So that's how it is. Getting kicked off discord for saying NWN2 is dead, which it is, and suggesting moving to NWN EE.
